S.H RAZA (1922-2016)
▪ “My work is my own Inner experience and involvement with mysteries of nature
and form Whichis expressed in colour ,line ,space and light – Syed Haider Raza “
• S. H. Raza’s works represent the origins of life
and symbols that social group painters and
extremely subtle Indian philosophers have
drawn, pondered and reflected for years. His
works vibrate like trendy Buddhism “tankhas”
causing marvel, joy and meditation inside the
viewer. His Indian canvases and also the early
French ones were all realistic.
• His primary colors of fireplace and also the
ocean area unit the colors of location, navy blue
and yellow incorporated where lightweight
becomes material. Because the master creative
person himself puts, “My work is my very own
inner expertise and involvement with the
mysteries of nature and kind that is expressed in
color, line, house and light”.

Bindu
▪ Raza’s art is an example of how simple geometric
shapes can convey powerful Ideas.
▪ In his art, Raza explored themes of Prakriti
(nature), Kundalini (primal energy), Tribhuj (triangle)
and Bindu (circle/dot).The most celebrated of Raza
art series has been the ‘Bindu’. Derived from the
Indian concept of “Shunya”, meaning the abstract
of nothingness and yet that which has the ability to
add value to whatever it is affixed to.
Raza perceived the Bindu as the centre of all creation and existence, stating that
“Bindu is a source of energy, source of life. Life begins here, attains infinity here”.
Interestingly, Raza’s art and creation also began with the Bindu.
The Surya Namaskar is by far one of the largest of the variations that Raza painted in
salutation to the sun. The forty-six tiles, laid in a geometric grid, represent the
different phases of the sun. The singular black circle in the centre evokes the
absolute, life-giving oneness of the sun.
