2. narrative
■ Character 1 is at home watching tv, and then suddenly hears a sound. they look up and
shrug it off.The sound then becomes constants and sounds like talking at times.They
get up to start looking around and see a shadow outside of their house.They become
freaked out and assume that there is a home invasion going on.They grab their phone
to text their friend for help stating that they think it’s a home invasion.They creepy
around the house following the sounds and movements and then hide in fear. He then
makes the decision to gear up grabbing household items and things like nerf guns
once he hears them in one room. He works up the courage to kick open the door
pointing the nerf gun in the room to then find out it was just his friend in the room. He
sighs of relief but then cuts to outside as an actual group of robbers walk towards his
house.

■ Wearing work clothes shirt, tie, trousers
■ He is a dopy character that is always on guard thinking that
something is always going on when it isn't.
■ he is extremely weak spirited and easily scared imagining
the worst case scenario
■ However acts lazy
■ he lives with his roommate as he cant be independent on
his own but his roommate doesn't’t know that. He tries to
keep a calm persona for his roommate.
■ he works a boring office job and doesn't’t experience much
interesting in his life only really interacting with people at
work and his roommate.
■ Loves classic films from his childhood an takes inspiration
from them

■ The world needs to seem realistic to help the situation more tense for the audience as it
could seem relatable.
■ The mise en scene would create a realistic home setting and the events would only take
place in certain rooms of the house.
■ The living room could contain a sofa, tv, book shelves to make it look like a lived in
environment.
■ There would be normal items that would see in a home. the props would be items like
nerf guns, random household items that he would use when he gears up to go and fight
the robber.
■ Would also need to create a realistic looking bedroom for the friend character when
character 1 barges in.
5. Style
■ The film would be sylised with dark gritty colours with high contrast making the
dark colours seem almost black as the high contrast will support the thriller genre.
The lighting would be tinted blue to create a cold and isolated feeling and colour
corrected to have a blue tint further boosting that isolated feeling.This would also
help the eerie mood and a tense atmosphere. It would fit under the genre of thriller
because of the suspense of not knowing who is in the house and the continuous
tension this would cause. I would use long shot duration to create tension and then
use quicker cuts to shot faster movements such as when he would be gearing up.
6. Sound
■ There would be heavy use of diegetic sound such as footsteps and talking that the
main character would be hearing.
■ i would use ominous music that helps build up tension throughout the film and then
cut at times to exaggerate certain parts or other sounds
■ I would use ambient sounds of things like room noise and household items like a fridge
being on to add texture to the soundscape
■ I would only use dialogue at the end when he barges into the room and sees his friend
there.
7. Target audience
■ My target audience would be teens-young adults because of the thriller elements
would be most captivating to this age group.
■ it would also be aimed to those that are fans of tense and suspenseful films because
of the constant building of tension and the only relief being comedic
