Understanding Culture, Society and Politics
Monday Tuesday Wednesday

I. Topic: Marriage and Family
II. Objectives: At the end of the session, learners are expected to:
 discuss the concept of Marriage and the Family,
 identify the forms of marriage, norms of the selection of potential
marriage partners and patterns of family organization,
 explain the importance of marriage and family in the society, and
 reflect on the traditional family norms and non-traditional alternatives
through writing/giving their perspectives about it.

IV. Learning Activities
 The teacher will do a short recap about the previously discussed lessons.
 The teacher will ask students about their perspectives on the picture
pasted on the board depicting marriage and family.
 Afterwards, to definitely develop the lesson, he will then throw questions
to the students pertinent to the topic that he will discuss.
 After getting students responses and set their minds to the topic, the
teacher will then starts his formal discussion about “Marriage and
Family”
 To make the lesson discussion be more active, the teacher will let
students to count from 1 up to the last number. The purpose of this one is
that, it is easy for the teacher to call somebody during oral participation
through calling out the designated/assigned number.
V. Evaluation
In a 1 whole sheet of paper, students will answer the following:
Restricted essay (5 points each)
1. Explain the importance of marriage and family in the society?
2. Why do people marry?
3. If you are to build your own family in the future, what would it likely to
be?
VI. Assignment
Research about the traditional family norms and non-traditional alternatives.
Afterwards, give your views about it. Paste this in a short bond paper. And,
observe neatness on your work.
To be submitted on the next meeting.
