12. Opting for MFL
(Modern Foreign Languages)
• Taster Spanish/Italian sessions within lessons
• Students opting for MFL are required to write a
paragraph explaining WHY they would like to take
the subject(s)
• This will take part during MFL lessons

Pre-Option Survey
• Gives an indication of the options which students are
considering
• Gives teachers the opportunity to give feedback on
students’ suitability for the course based on their
current attitude to learning and progress
• Relevant feedback from teachers can be discussed at
the options interviews with SLT/HoY
• Recommendation that students should be achieving
at least ‘Good’ in their Responsibility for Progress
grades on their report
