2. Hello Year One,
Hope you’ve all had a good week and been out enjoying the sunshine!
Hopefully you will have had a go at writing a simple letter last week. If any of you would
like to email them to us then that would be lovely! We really do enjoy seeing all of your
super writing.
This weeks work is all about ‘Poetry’. The poetry we are going to look at is a little bit silly
at times and may make you laugh! We are going to look at something called ‘Nonsense
poetry’ which means that they may not make much sense but they may make us use our
imagination!
Have a look through each slide and by the end of the week you should have a better
understanding of what nonsense poetry is!
Have a go and try your best!
We look forward to reading them…
Year One

6. Mary had a little lamb
Mary has a little lamb
A lobster and some prunes,
A glass of milk, a piece of pie,
And then some macaroons.
It made the busy waiters grin
To see her order so,
And when they carried Mary out,
Her face was white as snow.
What is the original rhyme?
