FREELANCE CONSULTANCY SERVICES
I am currently employed as a quantity surveyor/office
manager/estimator at RS Scaffolding Erection Services Ltd
and have been for the last 2 years. Previously I was a self-
employed consultant and I have worked in the construction
industry for 20 years. I have provided quantity surveying and
site management services for various projects. From small
work such as house refurbishments and Welsh Water
drainage to larger projects such as Henllys Hall Complex on
Anglesey and the A55 Road Improvement between Gaerwen
and Holyhead. Most recently I have been working on landfill
sites overseeing gas extraction management systems across
the country.
Please see below some example projects I have worked
on:-
Henllys Hall Contract included 50 chalets, a leisure complex linked
to the hall and a new golf house. Contractors site quantity
surveyor and assistant site management services including
assisting in the agreement of the final account.
51 Apartments and Communal Areas, sheltered accommodation
for the elderly, West Parade, Rhyl. Provided site quantity surveying
and assistant site management services including assisting in the
agreement of the final account.
Mold Law Courts Entrance and Internal Refurbishment. Provided
full quantity surveying and assistant site management services.
The Acquired Brain Injury Unit, Leonard Cheshire Homes, Colwyn
Bay. Provided full quantity surveying services.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
During my 20 years in construction I have only worked for 3 companies excluding my current employer as I have a
loyal nature. I started at George Corderoy & Co. Quantity surveyors for the first 7 years then moved to a local
contractors company in Colwyn Bay for 8 years. I served 3 years as a self-employed consultant before deciding to go
back into building/contracting.
SKILLS
Evaluated: Cost consultancy, Tendering and estimating skills
Quantity Surveying and Site Management skills
Experience in standard forms of Building and Civil Engineering
Contracts including NEC3
Pre and Post Tender including completion of Pre -Qualification
Questionnaires
Health and Safety and First Aid Trained

Other: Excellent face to face and telecommunication skills

Insurance claim advice and remediation
Computer: Experience, knowledge and familiarity of computer hardware and
software including RIPAC, ICEPAC(measurement based software),
Sage 50 and Red Sky Axim Accounts Payment System, Standard
Method of Measurement Revision A, Microsoft Office and all
versions of Windows.
PERSONAL PROFILE
I completed my honors degree in quantity surveying at Liverpool John Moore’s back in 2004. It was
completed part time whilst working full time so I appreciate the nature of hard work.
The skills I have developed over this period cover a number of areas as I have had to communicate with
a varied range of people through working in a management environment. I am no stranger to flexible
working hours and my roles have included the necessity to travel all over the UK.
I feel I am an effective communicator having had to engage with people at all levels of professional
hierarchy. I believe I have an approachable and friendly persona and value my ability to develop
relationships and get on with all types of people.
I have experience in leading teams and working in groups of people as well as working independently
and have been responsible for making pivotal decisions without further authorisation.
I am confident about my time management skills having had to run projects to deadlines and also
having had to take on various roles within this to ensure the correct and timely outcome. This
sometimes involves challenging different perspectives and making decisions that can change the format
of events. I consider myself an effective communicator on paper having had to comprise reports and
minutes of meetings etc. I have a good understanding of health and safety in general having been the
responsible officer and a named first aider in a previous role.
I also have excellent computer skills having completed several i.t. modules at university including
designing web sites and creating and developing databases.
