2. Apple
 Learners will choose a media company, (from a
given list) and produce a 1000 word case-study
on that company.
 Choose from, Disney, Apple, Sony (& SyCo), News
Corporation, Google
 Start by telling me what media sector it belongs
to. (started out making It products (imacs) then
made itunes and made it into a media company)
 What products it produces (Computers, music
players, phones?)

3.  Who owns it - has the ownership changed - do
they own any other companies (no other
companies but they have a partnership with intel,
makers of processor chips for their computers)

4.  How it is organised, i.e. is it vertically or
horizontally integrated. Why is it organized this
way what are the benefits and disadvantages
(Apple is a vertically integrated company, the
advantages of this are that all the profits go to
Apple)

5.  Who are its competitors?
 Impact on production and distribution

6.  Who are the customers?
 Find quotes on how many it has
 What are the demographics, eg male
female, age, socio economic group

7.  What changes in organisational structure
has there been and what were the
implications.

8.  Hasit had any controversies ( eg News
Corporation and the News Of The World
Phone Hacking Scandal)
