2. What
Hyperpigmentation expressions.
Recreate the mutation in other organisms.
There are three breeds of Gallus gallus with
fibromelanosis
Ayam Cemani (originating from Indonesia)
Svart Höna / Swedish Black Chicken (descendant of Ayam Cemani)
Tuzo Argentina (variation from the Aseel, native to India)
3. How
First step: order the codification of a type of Gallus
Gallus with fibromelanosis and the same type without
fibromelanosis
Second step: identify the genome in charge of producing
melanin in the commonly know black rooster, a domestic
chicken with a mutation that causes hyperpigmentation.
Third step: isolate the gene, and insert it in another
animal (rats); provoking the mutation and causing
fibromelanosis.
4. Why
Military purposes
Completely black Belgian Shepherds for attacks at night
Pet/exotic animals lovers
Any type of animal with this hyperpigmentation would have great
value on the market.
Black pigs
resist heat better
Could survive in Africa where food is in scarcity
