GEO SYNTHETIC CONSULTANCY
 Geo synthetics is a product or composite product,
used in a civil engineering application, with at
least one component, a synthetic material.
 These include woven and nonwoven geo-textiles,
pavement inter-layers, geo-grids, geo-
membranes, prefabricated drains and erosion
control products.
 Plaxis, Geo FEM, Z Soil softwares are used for
analysis.
 We also provide geotextile solutions for Rock falls
and rock failure.

OVER VIEW – PRELIMINARY DESIGN
We develop conceptual alternatives or combinations of alternatives based on the requirements of
clients and from our vast experience in designing.
 Configuration of the primary structure
 Column and bearing/shear wall locations
 Conventional beam & slab systems, flat slab systems,
waffle slab systems, combination of these etc.
 Floor depths and elevations
 Main/principal member sizes
 Number of individual elements
 Slabs, Beams, girders, floor, columns, footings, etc.
 Likely connectivity between elements including “typical”
connections.

OVER VIEW – FINAL DESIGN
 We select the best of the preliminary
designs using specific tools and
feedbacks from the client.
 Complete all analysis, design, and
detailing of the final design:
 All foundation locations, sizes,
and details
 All member locations, sizes,
reinforcing details, bracing,
standards followed, etc.
 All connection details.
 The client should be clear on what
they get and the contractor must be
able to build it.

WHAT WE DO – CONCEPT DESIGN STAGE
 Study the set of preliminary concept drawings and identify alternative structural
solutions.
 Inspect the site and initiate soil investigation work.
 Prepare structural feasibility report indicating the loading parameters and other
important factors influencing the structural design for the 30% Design Review meeting as
per the Activity Schedule.
 Assist the Architects to prepare scheme drawings showing the recommended solution.

WHAT WE DO – PRELIMINARY DESIGN STAGE
 Prepare structural outline drawings at 1:100 scale based on the approved scheme
drawings.
 Prepare preliminary estimate of cost of the structural items of work.
 Prepare drawings, typical design calculations and such other documents for
submission to the local authorities.
 Prepare a detailed and updated structural analysis report with respect to system,
cost and time implications for the 60% Design Review Meeting

WHAT WE DO – TENDER STAGE
 Carry out preliminary structural design and computer analysis for all type of loads
including seismic and wind loads.
 Prepare structural design based on final analysis of the entire structure.
 Prepare tender drawings at 1:100 scale giving all the information necessary for the
contractors to visualize their scope of work.
 Prepare a statement of qualities of structural items of work to be included in the tender
documents and present a rough estimate of cost.
 Prepare typical working drawings for all the important structural elements within the
building to enable the bidders to estimate their rates accurately.
 Prepare detailed specifications for all the structural items.
 Issue four copies of tender drawings

WHAT WE DO – DETAILED DESIGN STAGE
 Prepare the balance working drawings as per agreed schedule.
 Issue six copies of drawings bearing “Valid for Construction”
 Prepare a final, updated structural report for the 90% Design Review Meeting

WHAT WE DO – CONSTRUCTION STAGE
 Discuss and finalize the construction program including temporary works as well as
special construction techniques, etc. with the selected contractors.
 Advise on the testing of various materials to be incorporated in the construction.
 Make periodic site visits as considered necessary to co-ordinate the work and to
guide the Clerk-of Works appointed by the clients.
 Check and clarify the quality of structural items of work and advise the Architect about
problems if any.
 Scrutinize the proposals for modifications if any in the final working drawings.
 Make final site visit to inspect the completed buildings and issue the final “Stability
Certificate” for submission to the concerned authorities.

CODE OF PRACTICE
 The report for all works shall conform to local building bye-laws and other state regulations
as well as to relevant latest Indian Standard Specifications and/or Standard code of
Practice.
 Where Indian Standards are not available, equivalent International Standards and/or
generally accepted Sound engineering practices shall be followed.
 Deviation from BIS recommendations and adoption of other code of practice will require
prior approval from the client
 All reports, computations etc. shall be submitted in English language and in metric/SI
units.
