Relevant Experience
1. Corridor 1 of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, Detailed Design of Viaduct Structures,
Hyderabad (2012-2013)
Involved in the Detailed Design project for Hyderabad Metro’s (HMRL) elevated structures.
Performed structural modelling, analysis and detail design of precast segmental post
tensioned box girder viaducts of different spans. Also worked on modelling, analysis and
design of 4 cast in-situ post-tensioned box girder viaducts for obligatory spans.
Worked on elongation calculations for various curved spans and carried out bearing designs
of various viaduct structures of various spans.
Using STAAD Pro/ MIDAS tools & worksheet calculations have designed these viaducts and
have worked for producing the general arrangement, numeration & reinforcement drawings
for the same.
Co-ordinated with the CAD team for the detailed drawings and submit the same to the client
to obtain approvals.
2. Chennai Metro Underground Stations, Detailed Designs, Chennai (2012-ongoing)
Involved in the Detailed Design project for Chennai Metro underground stations under UAA-
02 and 03 packages for Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL).
Responsible for preliminary and detailed design of various structural components of 7
Underground Metro Station’s entrance/ exit structures using Top down and Bottom up
Construction methodology.
Also worked on the modelling, analysis and detail design of concourse level slab and internal
elements of main station structures.
Few challenges faced in the project were in the preparation of General arrangement
drawing of entrance and exit structures, to provide sequence of construction and to analyse
& design accordingly.
Provision of Waler beam, its arrangement and design is a crucial part in the Top down
construction methodology. Flotation check for the hull structure, design of base slab for uplift
pressure, design of Steel Plunge-in columns, design of Barrette piles for tension &
compression, capping beam design for diaphragm wall for horizontal loads and U trough
designs are the other challenges faced.
Worked on the revisions to be made in detailed designs due to site requirements/constraints
viz., post drilled re-bars in D-walls due to mis-positioning of bars during construction, to
check for redistribution of moments at locations where couplers are out of position.
Using STAAD programs & worksheet calculations designed the slabs and other structural
components and produced general arrangement, numeration & reinforcement drawings for
the same.
Co-ordinate with CAD, MEP and Architectural team for drawings for the designs done.
Submission of design documentation together with drawings to the client, LDC and GC and
obtain approvals for the designs.

3. Bangalore Metro Rail Project (BMRCL), Detailed Design of Elevated Stations & Bridge
Structures, Bangalore (2010-2012)
Involved in the Detailed Design project for Bangalore Metro rail project’s Phase 1- Reach 2
and 3.
Responsible for the detailed design of 6 station entrance/ exit building structures and 5 Main
Station Bridge Structures which involved preparation of general arrangement drawings,
modelling, structural analysis, design and detailed drawings.
Challenges involved in the project were in the preparation of GA with co-ordinating the
architectural drawings which were revised as per the site constraints and requirements,
arrangement of structural system to best suit the requirement with economy, design of
piles, pile caps, piles, girders, pre-tensioned beams, corbels, ledge beams, piers, retaining
walls, stair cases, lift supports, RC walls; after analysis for live load, moving load and other
loads specified under DBR of the project.
Live load analysis combined with earthquake and other loads were crucial aspects in the
design of Bridge structures that housed main station with exit and entrance structures under
the same frame model of the structure.
Worked on design of steel roof structures for two stations which are architecturally
magnificent structures.
Using STAAD programs & worksheet calculations designed all the structural components and
produced general arrangement, numeration & reinforcement drawings for the same.
Co-ordinate with CAD, MEP and Architectural team for drawings for the designs done.
Submission of design documentation to client for approvals.
Actively co-ordinated with the General Consultant of BMRCL whilst obtaining approvals for
the designs.
4. Proof Checking of Designs (2010)
Performed analysis and design check of the newly constructed industrial buildings. The
entire building was rechecked to satisfy serviceability and durability requirements. Analysis
and design check was performed based on site erected member specifications & site
conditions. Suggestions on further strengthening measures required were reported to the
Client.
5. RC Building Designs, various (2006-2007)
Design of Multi-storey Apartments & other residential buildings
Design of Commercial & School buildings
Sump designs
Wastewater treatment plant

6. Continuing Professional Development
Took part in the ENGINUITY competition which gives users the opportunity to gain a better
understanding of how a modern GLOBAL construction business operates, challenging them
with the task of managing a UK-based construction company operating worldwide.
Actively participated in national and international technical seminars viz. Structural Engineers
World Congress (SEWC) 2007, REDECON 2006.
Actively participated in the workshop conducted by RICS on understanding the BIM concept.
I have huge interest to involve in the projects with BIM.
Undergone a Certificate Proficiency course at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on the
Topic “Finite Element Method”.
Attended 2 day training session on the applications of midas software in the design of
viaducts organised by Parsons Brinkerhoff.
Actively participated in the seminar conducted by ICE, Bangalore chapter on the topic
‘Bridges and innovations’.
Actively participated in the site visits organised by Parsons Brinkerhoff and understood the
application of post tensioning to cables at site.
