To Whom It May Concern:
I am a retired senior manager of Operations & Maintenance. In my most recent position
I was responsible for a staff of over 100 technical, engineering and 2nd
level
management personnel. My former employer, Lockheed Martin Corporation, and my
program headquarters was based in the Washington, DC area. Over the course of my
30+ year career with LM and other companies, I worked on a variety of interesting
programs, mostly in the defense contracting arena but with over 10 years in the
commercial arena as well. Now, after over 10 years in retirement, I find I miss the
satisfaction I used to feel after attaining an especially ambitious goal or solving a
particularly challenging problem in either a tech discipline or a personnel-related issue. I
have an interest in moving into something new, but with a few self-imposed constraints:
I have significant managerial experience - I doubt it would take very long to get
back up to speed in whatever technical or managerial arena I would enter into
I have operated organizations that strongly emphasize customer service and
support, and have consistently received outstanding proficiency reports
My education and broad experience are suitable for most any technical discipline,
and I learn new skills and disciplines quickly
I have a strong mathematical and technical background including design, test and
maintenance of EDP equipment
I am an accomplished woodworker with skills in both design and assembly, and have
experience in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
I have a technical degree (BS in Physics) and graduate study in Bio-Engineering
While there are a variety of activities and projects available to occupy my time, and my
current lifestyle is quite satisfactory, I'm not quite ready to close the door on any
challenging prospects in the professional arena. I believe I still have much to contribute
and many challenges to meet. If any of this makes sense to you, and you think it is
worth discussing possible options, please call* or e-mail and let's talk.
Sincerely,
Jim Seiler

a better option
