The document provides instructions for faculty to import an online template and their existing course content into a new course shell in Blackboard. It outlines an 8 step process to clean up the new course shell, download and import the online template, export and import the existing course content, and then verify and personalize the new course shell. The template is being implemented to streamline online course navigation for students across all classes.
1. Use the Online Template
Instructions to import the MCC online template
and your prepared course content
into a new course shell
2. Rationale
• The upcoming Madisonville Community College Quality Enhancement
Plan (QEP) will center around “online engagement.”
• After much research and discussion, one fact became clear – students
cannot begin to engage with our content if they cannot navigate to it
easily.
• Students with multiple online classes found every course had a
different navigation, resulting in frustration and time wasted on
learning the “system” rather than the content.
• In an effort to streamline our online course navigation for all classes,
this template was created in BlackBoard.
