1. Why is PDHPE important?
PDHPE is an important learning area within the primary
curriculum as it develops in each student the knowledge,
understanding, skills, attitudes, and values needed to lead
healthy, active and fulfilling lives. Above all PDHPE lays the
foundation for students to adopt a responsible and productive
role in society.
And most of all it’s FUN

2. What does PDHPE have to offer?
• Physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth and
developmental patterns.
• Developing and maintaining of positive interpersonal
relationships.
• The factors influencing personal health choices.
• Living and learning in a safe environment.
• The adoption of an active lifestyle
• Fundamental movement patterns and coordinated actions
of the body.
• Skills that enable action for better health and movement

Board of Studies curriculum that students
should gain from PDHPE. They are:
