2. ICT stands for Information Communication
Technology. , wireless networks, cell
phones, computers, software, middleware,
video-conferencing, social networking, and
other media applications and services.
3. Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) in education is the mode
of education that use information and
communications technology to support,
enhance, and optimise the delivery of
information. Worldwide research has shown
that ICT can lead to an improved student
learning and better teaching methods.
4. ICT tools stand for Information
Communication Technology tools. The ICT
tools means to digital infrastructures like
computers, laptops, printers, scanners,
software programs, data projectors, and
interactive teaching box.

6. A computer is a machine that can store and
process information. Computer is an
electronic device which is used for fast
calculation.
COMPUTER stands for Common Operating
Machine Purposely Used for Technological
and Educational research.
A computer consists of a central processing
unit and some form of memory.
7. S.No. Type Specifications
1
PC (Personal
Computer)
It is a single user computer system having moderately powerful
microprocessor
2 Workstation
It is also a single user computer system, similar to personal
computer however has a more powerful microprocessor.
3
Mini
Computer
It is a multi-user computer system, capable of supporting
hundreds of users simultaneously.
4 Main Frame
It is a multi-user computer system, capable of supporting
hundreds of users simultaneously. Software technology is
different from minicomputer.
5
Super
computer
It is an extremely fast computer, which can execute hundreds of
millions of instructions per second.
8. PC (Personal Computer):
A PC can be defined as a small, relatively
inexpensive computer designed for an
individual user.
9. WORKSTATION:
Workstation is a computer used for
engineering applications (CAD/CAM), desktop
publishing, software development, and other
such types of applications which require a
moderate amount of computing power and
relatively high quality graphics capabilities.
10. MINICOMPUTER:
It is a midsize multi-processing system
capable of supporting up to 250 users
simultaneously
11. MAINFRAME:
Mainframe is very large in size and is an
expensive computer capable of supporting
hundreds or even thousands of users
simultaneously. Mainframe executes many
programs concurrently and supports many
simultaneous execution of programs.
12. SUPERCOMPUTER:
Supercomputers are one of the fastest
computers currently available.
Supercomputers are very expensive and are
employed for specialized applications that
require immense amount of mathematical
calculations (number crunching).
13. A digital camera is a camera that captures
photographs in digital memory. However,
unlike film cameras, digital cameras can
display images on a screen immediately after
being recorded, and store and delete images
from memory. Many digital cameras can also
record moving videos with sound.
14. 1. Compact digital cameras:
Compact cameras are the most widely used
and the simplest cameras to be ever seen.
They are used for ordinary purposes and are
thus called “point and shoot cameras
15. 2. Bridge cameras:
Bridge cameras are most often mistaken for
single-lens reflex cameras (SLR).
16. 3. Digital single lens reflex cameras (DSLR):
This is one of the most high end cameras
obtainable for a decent price. They use the
single-lens reflex method just like an
ordinary camera with a digital image sensor.
17. 4. Electronic viewfinder (EVF):
This is just a combination of very large
sensors and also interchangeable lenses. The
preview is made using an EVF. There is no
complication in mechanism like a DSLR.
18. 5. Digital rangefinders:
This is a special film camera equipped with a
rangefinder. With this type of a camera
distant photography is possible. Though other
cameras can be used to take distant photos,
they do not use the rangefinder technique
19. 6. Line-scan cameras:
This type of cameras is used for capturing
high image resolutions at a very high speed.
To make this mechanism possible, a single
pixel of image sensors are used instead of a
matrix system.
20. An interactive smart board, also known as
an electronic whiteboard, is a classroom tool
that allows images from a computer screen
to be displayed onto a classroom board using
a digital projector.
The teacher or a student can “interact” with
the images directly on the screen using a tool
or even a finger.
21. A white board is merely a board that can be
used for writing, but an interactive white
board is used to interact with the computer.
The term Interactive Whiteboard just means
a large interactive display that connects to a
computer and projector.
22. Interactive whiteboards are usually available
in two different forms namely front
projection interactive whiteboards and rear
projection interactive whiteboards, as
explained below: Front
projection interactive whiteboards use a
video projector in front of the board.
23. A visualiser is simply a digital camera fixed
on the end of an arm (Rigid or Flexible);
using the controls on the base unit and/or
software you can zoom in and out, freeze
and capture an image of whatever is
positioned under the camera
24. Visualisers are becoming increasingly
common in classrooms. These tools are like a
webcam which is permanently connected to
your whiteboard / projector and lets you
show things to the whole class using the
large screen display in your room
25. Multimedia Equipment is a group or “family”
of product, which
include devices categorized as Information
Technology Equipment or Sound and
Television Broadcast Receivers and
Associated Equipment
26. Tablet computers resemble smart phones in
some ways and can also be used to take
photos, make phone calls, send messages,
record videos and perform other tasks that
can be performed by a smart phone as well.
27. A laptop computer is a small personal
computer. They are designed to be more
portable than traditional desktop computers,
with many of the same abilities.
Laptops are able to be folded flat for
transportation and have a built-in keyboard
and touchpad.
28. The full form of Laptop is Lightweight
Analytical Platform Total Optimized Power
29. 1. Hybrid laptop:
These hybrid laptops are a cross
between laptops and tablets; these gadgets
feature a flip-screen design which can be
used a tablet when you are travelling and
a laptop while you are home and working on
a presentation.
30. 2. Traditional laptop:
These are the common form of laptop.
Usually have a screen size of more than 11
inches.
31. 3. Detachable laptop:
Detachable screen (or detachable touchscreen) is
a phrase commonly associated with laptop–
tablet hybrid devices, also called a convertible
laptop. The devices may be sold as a tablet or
advertised as a laptop with detachable screen
or convertible laptop.
32. The Internet (or internet) is the global
system of interconnected computer networks
that uses the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP)
to communicate between networks and
devices.
INTERNET stands for Interconnected Network
that is a network system that connects
millions of web servers.
33. The full meaning of the INTERNET can also
be explained by the bunch of websites of
different organizations, schools, institutions
and more. With the help of the INTERNET,
the world is connected.
34. iPad is a line of tablet computers designed,
