Engineering Specialist – Transportation Supervisor position seeking the challenge of technical,

Professional Experience
CURRENT ROLE: ENGINEERING SPECIALIST – ADV 2
 Prepares project plans, budgets, specifications, special provisions, engineer’s
estimates, time analysis chart and production rates.
 Reviews plans and documents for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to
design standards, specifications and sound engineering principles.
 Conducts and participates in meetings with municipalities, State and Federal
agencies, consultants, contractors, and the public to collect and/or exchange
information regarding project development.
 Utilize bid express and estimator in creating and verifying unit bid prices.
 Mentor and develop project staff.
 Uses engineering skills and judgment to develop plans, recognize problem areas,
and make adjustments to meet field conditions.
 Directs personnel assigned to the project by organizing, delegating, instructing,
and monitoring assignments.
 Prepare agendas and facilitate weekly contractor meetings.
 Maintain property owner communication.
 Facilitate public information meetings and prepare displays.
 Evaluates experimental, existing and new concepts for incorporation into the
project.
 Negotiate contract modification unit prices.
 Adhere to environmental concerns and policies.
 Coordinate work by others, including ad-hocs, consultants and utilities.
 Ability to interpret plan specifications.
 Evaluate contractor’s methods of construction, equipment, work schedules and
assures compliance with the contract and specifications.
 Document project construction activities such as contractor operations, delays,

contract time, accidents, traffic control, utilities work, claims and complaints, item
record account, specification compliance, labor compliance, materials reports,
weekly reports, contract change orders, pay estimates, final quantities and as-
built plans.
 Assures material compliance with project specification by determining frequency
and type of sampling, testing, inspections, and information required for
acceptance or rejection of materials incorporated into the project.
 Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices; the Standard
Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction as published by the Wisconsin
Department of Transportation; departmental policies which govern design,
construction, and maintenance of all types of improvement projects.
 Works as a team member to develop improved methods and procedures to
improve transportation projects.
 Serves as a resource and advisor to the project team.
 Maintains and upgrades professional and technical knowledge and skills.
