Mould Maintenance and Repair
 Planning, preventive & predictive maintenance of the Moulds to increase reliability & availability.
 Implementing cost saving/ energy saving techniques/Kaizens and modifications the system to achieve substantial
reduction in O&M expenditures and work within the budget.
 Designing fixtures for the assembly line and de-gating tools for parts de-gating.
 Carrying out the laser welding of moulds in critical areas and repairing the welded areas with accuracy.
 Handling designing and fabrication of trimming dies for the cast parts; assembling, fitting & matching new molds.
 Executing new mold try shot and trouble-shooting the same during production.
 Preparing machining fixtures, special purpose machines and pneumatic tools.
 Identifying areas of bottlenecks /breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipments through application of
trouble shooting tools like root cause analysis and achieve KPI
 Attaining quotations and approval for outsourcing and new vendor development.
 Monitoring tool life and giving input in tool modifications for increase tool life time.
Process Improvement/ Value-engineering
 Ensuring the proper use of all the available resources to bring in maximum output.
 Identifying areas of improvement and recommending process modifications to enhance operational efficiencies of
machine/ equipment and achieving higher productivities.
 Ascertaining control procedures to monitor the output; validating performance of those manufacturing processes
that may be causing variability in the characteristics of in-process material and the product.
 Ensuring process validation by establishing documented evidence & confirming that a specific process consistently
produces products meeting specifications & quality characteristics.
Quality Management
 Ensuring compliance with QA Measures to monitor consistency and quality of services provided to specialised
equipments and Instruments.
 Recommending equipment purchases & standardisation based upon history and experience.
 Design and fabricating gauges, inspection fixtures, functional gauges for quality control department.
 Facilitating inputs in conceptualisation of project upgradation, finalisation of drawings/ documents.

Roles and Responsibilities
Leading a group of tool makers in making Plastics injection moulds from the design stage to the T0 trial, and
corrections
Attending design reviews and giving suggestions and improvement plans for easy mould manufacturing
Conducting daily meeting and reviews and solving problems facing during mould making
Preparing ISO related documents for the manufacturing process related to mould making
Key Highlights
Developed highly precision plastics moulds and achieved the customer approved part within T2
Developed Horn pad and body cover moulds for Leyland and Daimler with sprung core mechanism
Successfully achieved customer part approval in T1 for a double cavity 12 slider mould with a target time of
6weeks
Apr ’07 to May 2009 Jabil Green Point India (P) Ltd. Sriperumpudur, Chennai as Engineer –Tool Room
Jabil is a leading EMS company and is the World no 3 company next to Flextronics.
Roles and Responsibilities
 Spearheading 12 tool makers in tool maintenance and repair of plastic injection moulds for cell phone panels.
 Carrying out the daily meeting with team members for improvements and building team spirit.
 Directing the 5s activities in the team.
 Implementing the MPMS and training the technicians on the implementation of the software (Mold Production
Management System).
 Functioning as a team member of Nokia Workcell; attending daily work cell meeting giving corrective & preventive
action plans to production related problems and reducing the mold down time.

 Functioned as core member of Project Development Team for new tool development with the tool maker in China.
 Took charge of daily activities in the tooling department.
 Played a vital role in carrying out tool modifications for incrementing insert life & quick change over.

Jul ‘97 to Jul ’99 PDCI SDN BHD, Melaka, Malaysia as Tool and Die maker.
A leading manufacturer of Aluminium Pressure Die- Cast component in Malaysia. A Subsidiary of Pioneer
Industries Pvt. Ltd., Singapore established in 1972.
Roles and Responsibilities
 Spearheading a group of tool makers and technicians in the daily activities.
 Fabricating of pressure Die Casting Molds for aluminium components of given design and specification.
 Handling the Design and Process FMEA before new tool manufacturing.
 Overseeing the preventive maintenance and repairing of die casting molds and related trimming dies.
 Imparting technical support to the production department for sorting out daily problems to improve part quality
and meeting the production target.
Key Highlights
 Preparation of the ISO Standard Document SOP and carried out the tool life monitoring.
 Instrumental in handling operations/ maintenance of the operating machines like Lathe, Milling, Drilling and EDM.
 Developed electrodes for EDM with high accuracy
 Played a vital in carrying out die back plate modification to fit machines of a similar capacity.
 Instrumental in carrying out modification of mechanical sliders for easy change of inserts while breakage.
 Led the execution of various improvement plans to increase tool life such as stress relieving, various coatings and
heat treatments methods in timely intervals.

Singapore); started making new trimming tool for the cast parts internally.

machines for condom testing and packing.

o Plastic injection moulds and hand moulds.
