1. Leonardo da Vinci once said, “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not
enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” I have devoted my career to
following this advice, and it is because of my belief in working toward worthwhile goals that I
want to put my name forward for consideration.
Professionally, over the past ten years, I have been involved in multiple levels of political
organization. I have written speeches and articles for campaigns, and I have made those
speeches, as well as represented campaigns before the media and the public, in interviews and
debates. I have targeted messages to specific audiences, edited media of all forms in order to
maximize impact, and fine-tuned the campaign message to fit. I have formed public events from
the ground up and seen them through to a successful conclusion. I have walked candidates from
the start of the campaign through election day, setting up campaign plans, dealing with
consultants and lobbyists, structuring alliances and support from organizations. My experience
has also included staffing a campaign in all roles, screening and interviewing potential
employees, positioning them and overseeing their progress, and, where necessary, taking
disciplinary action.
On a more grassroots level, I have also had extensive field experience. In areas nationwide, I
have composed field plans and executed them, targeting swing voters, recruiting volunteers
wherever possible, and enlisting the aid of unions and other organizations. I have opened satellite
offices, staffed and maintained them, and trained others to do the same. My experience with
software such as NGP and the Voter Activation Network has played a pivotal role in this
development.
I believe that this position is a new experience, another chance to make things happen, and I am
ready to seize the opportunity and run with it. I am available for contact and interview at any
time, either through phone or email; get in touch with me at your earliest convenience and we
can make this combination a reality!
