I am a free, a passionate individual who strongly believes in justice, equality and freedom. I am
also a wanderer who loves to travel and discover the true essence of every place I visit and get
involved with the locals to get a perspective of their view about the issues and life. Being
curious by nature I am filled with a never ending need to absorb the best from Life and Live it to
the fullest...
In personal capacity, I have always been outspoken on social media, on ground supporting
grassroots, individuals on various human rights, Justice, equality, environmental and local
issues, against government’s curbing of citizen voice, government’s policies, and defending
people’s basic Rights to expression and dissent. (For which I have been trolled and abused
online and personally)
During the complete experience of working at Aks and Map Media Link, I developed a skill of
dealing with people efficiently and effectively under pressure and in varied situations. I have
learned convincing and diplomacy skills to get the job done while dealing with politicians, police
and administration. I have managed Femina Miss India (India’s biggest fashion event in 2010, as
part of my internship during my diploma) Map Media Link was an incredible experience in
terms of management of large teams, real time conflict resolution, using diplomacy to work
amongst politicians and bureaucrats and most of my field work. Strategy designing and problem
solving while dealing with media was major part of my role. It being a political setup the
damage control had to be done within a very short time period.
IPAC on the other hand involved jumping amongst different roles in ground volunteer
mobilization, event co-ordination, outreach, digital training and implementing digital strategies
and coordinating and executing events involving 5000 to 15000 people on various occasions.
Starting with mobilization, venue finalization, event planning, branding and event execution on
the day, just everything. Also a large amount of campaign designing and digital execution with
the help of info graphics, personal stories, creating media hooks for campaigns, deciding Media,
PR, Social Media marketing and outreach strategies.
I have initiated and designed an anti-drug Campaign for the state of Punjab, in India, which will
be implemented in Punjab elections. One of its kind and largest campaign in India against drugs.
I have evolved daily trying new things, winning, failing and starting fresh while freelancing for
Jal Biradari, TALI and Sevalaya.
I found my passion in creating change, the reason for my Masters in Media Campaigning and
Social Change. I want to travel to places where people don't want to go, bring up the issues of
2. Justice, equality, fairness to public sphere, into limelight, help people them fight their own
battles, generate sustainable and winnable campaigns with the resources available and win
them, and then move on to the next fight, to make the world a better place. My aim is
challenging and changing the framing, narrative of various issues and thus the status quo and
facilitating change through creative and people oriented campaigns.
I feel empowered in empowering others, it drives me. I want to help people empower
themselves, build local powers structures and counter the opposing agenda. Work both digitally
and on ground. Work in a multi cultured, varied team, collaborates with grassroots organization
& not be confined to a specific geography or issue, but take up all the issues everywhere
around the world, with creative ideas and innovation in campaigning through music, art,
theater and other forms of art. I understand the interlinking of various issues, like how
environmental issue is a human rights issue and how it can impact life at a large and how
privacy matters in all this work.
All my experience in varied organization has helped me master diplomacy skills, media
relations, outreach, recruiting and working effectively with a number of teams simultaneously,
plan and manage events, work with politicians, bureaucrats, volunteers, unions, writing content
for traditional as well as digital media, social media optimization, strategy designing and
implementation, multitasking, managing various platforms, research and acting swiftly on it. I
have travelled extensively in all my jobs and love it. I love to interact with people, connect with
them and thus solve issues with people power along with advocacy, media strategy and
campaigning. Also, the variety of work I have done helped me to understand myself better and
realize that I get job done once I take it up and decide on it. This has helped me widen my
spectrum of work and thus work on varied campaigns.
