2. Whilst studying for my Higher National Diploma at Salford University I was approached in my second
year to complete a dissertation to complete my studies. The topic I chose was about the way energy was
released and used by the body from sports drinks during exercise. I was approached to enter a national
competition to represent my university.I won the regional heat of the North West and subsequently
represented my university at London in the National final where I was the runner up against fellow students
from Reading, Oxford and Cambridge Universities to name a few.I gained runner up fourth out of twelve.
This was the first time for Salford University to have a student represent them in this kind of competition.

I have had a career in the domestic catering industry and was a chef for seven years and was head chef at
the age of nineteen I have always been in the food industry from young age as my god parents had a farm
and I was involved with my grandparents restaurant from a young age. I was also a food retail manager
