Experience Logistics and Supply Manager, Australian Defence Force – 2006 – 2017
Responsible for the provision and control of supply and logistical support to the
School of Army Aviation. Supervise compliance within the Defence corporate
governance framework including supervision of ancillary services and
procurement to directly support the conduct of individual Aviation training.
Provide SME advice on SCA management and Supply processes and
management of Project stores including Liaising with Contractor training
providers including AGAP and Boeing.
Manage all technical supply, maintenance scheduling and storage aspects of a
large logistic organisation, which incorporated a medium / heavy transport
division, petroleum operations, main warehouse facility and maintenance
support workshops. Provide training and guidance to Unit on Logistical and
Supply functions.
Manage the purchasing section for non-service supplied items, ensuring
compliance with Commonwealth Procurement policy. Managing budget to
ensure “value for money” is maintained.
Manage the Supply Corporate Governance Functions to ensure compliancy
remained above 95% in line with KPI’s.
Provide SME advice to the executive management team on Logistic and Supply
Support, assist with planning and conduct of Logistic operations in remote field
environment, both domestic and internationally.
Liaise with 3PL Agencies to provide timely delivery of stores in and out of unit.
Manage the provision of First and Second Line integral Logistic Support when
deployed into remote locations, in order to maintain operational capability, while

Achievements
While deployed on an overseas operation in Afghanistan, reviewed processes
and implemented changes to increase KPI’s within Corporate Governance,
increasing compliancy to 96%. Assisted the Local Command Team with the
redeployment of Australian Forces and equipment to Australia, providing SME
advice and support for the disposal or repatriation of assets and Infrastructure.
Re-established an Armoured Cavalry first line store, ensuring inventory,
procedures and capability were brought up to operational requirements within 2
months, enabling the unit to begin training for overseas deployment, with minima
training and experience of Australian Defence Force Supply Organisation and
procedures. Maintained inventory control for 90 armoured vehicles and
supporting equipment.
Supply Accounts Manager, British Army – 1993 – 2006
The management of all supply, control, accounting and office administration
functions for one of the three main aviation supply depots.
Provide SME Technical logistic advice to workshop, providing weekly reports
and forecasting on Inventory availability, serviceability and delivery, to ensure
production targets were maintained for Army Aviation medium/deep
maintenance facility.
Arrange return of repairable items, including engine assemblies, to on site repair
facility. Organised collection and delivery to and from agencies worldwide.
Managed stock inventory of approx $60 million, using various WMS, including
Oracle and UNYSIS based, Unit Supply Accounting software systems. To
support Aviation operations worldwide for the British Army.
Manage and calculate KPI targets for Aviation Supply, including AOG, availability
of repair pool and major assembly items, while maintaining Supply Chain priority
timeframes.
Planned and implemented models for “Fly away” kits for use by Rapid Reaction
and Larger Aviation Units, which had to be tailored to meet specific operational
needs.

Restructured functions within department to streamline and improve customer
service, providing a more personal and task specific service.
Carried out skill reviews for both military and civilian staff, assessing and
conducting training to meet those needs, in accordance with annual
performance reports.
Improved performance within department after previous unfavourable
Governance Inspection, resulting in significant improvement on successive
inspections and adoption of new procedures as the standard across other
depots.
Responsible for closedown and recovery of overseas Aviation Supply
warehouse in Belize. Ensuring all inventory was accounted for and repatriated to
the UK.
Initial receipt and accounting for $120 million of specialist Fuel and water
distribution and handling equipment into purpose built facility.
