As a teacher, Jake Dover is a caring and supportive professional dedicated to student learning. I
have observed Jake teach and we have talked about teaching strategies and techniques. His
lectures are interesting, well organized and laced with pertinent examples that clarify important
issues and concepts. He structures relevant activities for students to develop a more in-depth
understanding of course material. Jake is also able to sustain lively class discussion with thought
provoking questions. Also, I noted that students felt free to ask questions and request additional
help. Jake has always been open and receptive to student concerns. Students respond well to
Jake because of his enthusiasm and his dedication to their personal growth.My personal
perception of Jake’s teaching excellence is amply supported by strong student evaluations. On
course evaluations, students note that he is approachable, friendly, and concerned with their
development. He is complimented by students for promoting critical thinking through the
questions he asks and through the assignments he gives in our basic course. Students perceive
Jake to be an excellent role model because his lectures are enthusiastic and well organized. Jake
typifies a quality college teacher and students are eager to learn from him. In the spring of 2016,
Jake won the GTA Teaching Award for his excellence in teaching.

I had the pleasure of supervising Mr. Dover for over a year and a half. In this time frame Jake
demonstrated the ability to excel in his role as an Enrollment Advisor. His work ethic paired
with his interpersonal skills and motivation made him a remarkable employee. Jake is a natural
leader and subsequently earned the trust and respect from not only his peers but his students as
well. Professionally Jake is a top performer with strong skillsets in a variety of areas. The role
of an Enrollment Advisor is complex and challenging. Outside of being a programmatic expert it
is crucial that advisors are able to manage their data base effectively and remain organized all
while ensuring the student experience is prioritized. His ability to problem-solve and think
outside of the box was a real asset to my team.

Jake is a talented and passionate trainer. He has the confidence and drive to take on new material
and challenges, that most versed instructors would avoid. He connects with the learner in a way
that is authentic, concerned, and empathetic. When one observes Jake facilitate, it is evident the
investment and joy that he possesses, while striving to create and environment for the
participants that is conducive to the most successful learning experience one can have.
