3. As willing participants in this PLT we ALL need to be clear and establish common understandings and shared vision on two pivotal questions… Why do we need a stand alone Year Nine Precinct anyway? What actually is a Problem Based Learning Approach? How / Does it differ from Inquiry – Based Learning??
4. The primary difference between PBL and inquiry-based learning relates tothe role of the teacher. In an inquiry-based approach the teacher is both a facilitator of learning (encouraging/expecting higher-order thinking) and a provider ofinformation. In a PBL approach the teacher supports the process and expects learners to make their thinking clear, but the Teacher does not provide information relatedto the problem—that is the responsibility of thelearners.
