It is my privilege to be writing this letter of recommendation on the behalf of Dave
Ricker. I have had the pleasure of working with Dave since July 2011 as a colleague at The
Learning Clinic where we are both educators. Dave displays multiple qualities that make him an
asset to any educational facility. He is an over achiever in many ways and always puts the
students first. He goes above and beyond to ensure the best opportunities are explored for each
student. He is able to problem solve, be proactive and his ability to manage various roles in the
program including organizing and developing the school website and yearbook. His patience
with the students and their various abilities is uncanny. He knows when to push the students with
mathematics and graphic arts and when to understand their limits.
Some other roles Dave has been able to master in his time at The Learning Clinic include
writing/implementing/updating IEP’s, addressing student issues/concerns, developing curriculum
for the applied arts program, conducting assessments/ writing reports, and maintaining contact
and rapport with parents/students.
Dave has been able to master a co-teaching model within our school program. He is able
to work collaboratively with various educators. He demonstrates leadership qualities and is
always willing to do his part and more to make the program work in the best way possible for the
students. This resulted in his promotion to building coordinator of the arts program.
It has been a wonderful experience to teach with Dave and watch him grow
professionally. The graphic art that has been created by our students under his leadership is
remarkable. The support he is able to give these students in every setting he deals with them is
truly impressive. While it is disheartening to see him move on to the next phase in her career, he
will be an extraordinary addition to any teaching team. The school would be more than fortunate
to have his drive, hard-working attitude and all around awesome person join your school system.
