2. Under The Red Hood
mood board explanation:
In my mood board, I included other movie posters such as The Dark
Knight due to my theatrical poster taking some inspiration from the way
everything is postioned in that poster, the poster also has a simillar,
darker and gritty feeling to what I am aiming to achieve. I also included
pictures of things such as the chalk outline and magnifying glass to help
suggest the link to a mystery genre as they are what people usually
think about whenever someone says about a mystery film,
furthermore, I included the cityscape and guns to help get across that
this film is also an action film as a majority of action films do take place
in a city of some kind, such as Sin City, Die Hard and R.I.P.D .
Regarding as to why I have included smoke and rain, it is because they
have connotations of a mystery genre while also putting further
emphasis on the idea that the audience doesn't know much about this
character or his purpose. For the costume, I have chosen a mask to
convey the idea of the character being anonymous, furthermore, this
links to the action genre as a variety of different action films sometimes
have the main character in a mask of some kind, notably The Dark
Knight , Deadpool and Mad Max. Furthermore, the choice of having the
character wear clothes such as a leather jacket and jeans is
stereotypical of various action movie posters that tend to have the
main character in casual clothes most of the time, aside from posters
such as Die Hard, John Wick and Battle Los Angeles, which feature the
characters wearing more formal suits or uniforms.
