1. In this image we can see the
back cover to Drake’s Take
Care Album. From the view
of the image we can see how
the exact same colour
scheme of black and gold
has been used from the front
cover. The typography used
on the back is similar in the
way of that it is simplistic and
the same colour as the text
used on the front cover. The
gold colour and simplistic
typography helps to
reinforce the ideologies of
rappers today, for examples
wealth and power and the
affluent simple lives they now
live because of the industry
they are in. In the bottom left
of the back cover there are 3
images that represent the
music labels and music
companies drake is linked to.
Young Money, a hip hop/rap
group Drake is originally
linked to. Cash Money and
Universal Records, the music
record label’s he is owned
by. Also every part of the text
considering the song titles
and producing rights are all
centred into the centre of the
back cover. This creates a
focus point for the eye. The
images and record labels
have been used to hint to the
audience what the type of
genre the music is before the
consumer see’s which artist
the album is by. The back of
the album also features a
barcode for which is used in
the sale of the album, this is
typical of any usual album.
Overall the back of the
album cover features an
extremely simple artwork as
does the front cover. This
helps to connect the album
together from back to front
making it feel and look more
solid.
