1. Development Diary – Audio Drama
Last week, I created the scriptof the ghoststory. This was expected to be used
to create the sounds and record it, but I am Deaf and I don’t need any sounds. I
had a little bit of a different task from others in the group and I had to create
the script, not the radio recordings. I researched someghoststories from the
internet and I found three ghoststories that linked to my story.
I used softwarecalled Microsoft“Word” for editing the script. I mustplan first
before I create the scriptbecauseI need to plan the idea and all the lines and
sounds. Also, I researched on the internet and I found the professionalscript
called “FormatAudio Drama” and that was to show me how to make my script
look real, and like a professionalscript. Then, I started to create a draftscript, I
organized all the lines and sounds in the right order and I picked all the lines
and sounds frommy planning. I checked it twice to make sureeverything was
there as I don’twant to miss anything out. Then, I created a second draftscript
because I added some line and sounds. Also, I need to checked my lines
spelling and grammar are correctbecause I am Deaf and I used BSL which has a
different structureto English. I must create a different draft and separate
scriptbecause I wantto show my scriptlooks different, has developed and is
improving in each draft of the script.
Finally, I created the final professionalscript, stillusing the same Word
software. I researched on the internet called DaFont, which had lots of
different fonts. I downloaded the font called “Typewriter” becausethat fontis
real scriptwriting. So, I started writing the lines and sounds in my script. I
copied all the lines and sounds from a final draft script, in exactly same place
and order. When I finished my professionalscriptand I asked my tutor for his
feedback. I made a few changes and added somelines and sounds from my
feedback. Some of my lines might not have been clear and means the hearing
people in the audience might not understand and I need to make sureall the
lines are more understandable.
I created my evaluation, I talked about looking back at my work so far. I was
happy with my professionalscriptbecauseI finally learned how to make a
professionalscript. Two years ago when I did somescript writing before, I
never created a real professionalscriptbecauseI was still creating drafts and I
didn’t learn how to make a professionalscript. I was happy with my evaluation
because I had lots of details about research, planning and script. Some of them
I was struck and I asked my CSW to help me add some moreinformation and

2. details like remind me of how is going through two weeks. I collected four
scripts and put them on my evaluation to show how I was improving my
scripts. Luckily, I wasn’tover the deadline because I got everything under
control and was in perfect time. Next time, I need to add more details about
how to useand how to makeit.
