1. Q) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
2. With my research, I started by looking at music videos to see what makes a good music
video. I presented majority of my research using Prezi and Slideshare. Using Prezi and
Slideshare helped me produce and present my work in a more creative way. For audience
research, we used SurveyMonkey which allowed us to create a survey online and to give it
to people through email which made it easier to get participants for the survey. We used
the results from the audience to make charts on Microsoft Excel that could be easily
comprehended and show the information we gained.
3. During the planning stage, I used similar media technologies as my research. I
started using different websites to improve the quality of our planning and how it
is presented for example StoryboardThat allowed me to create story boards in a
more creative way using characters made on their website instead of drawing the
characters one by one.This helped me present my idea in a more clear way.The
story board was useful when recording the music video because it helped us
know what we need to film and how we have to film as their was a comment box
below.
4. In production, I used a variety of media technologies to make my music video to the
best of my ability.The school gave a Nikon camera to film with which recorded high
quality clips. For some clips we used a tripod to keep the camera still but most clips
were recorded holding the camera. During the post production, we used Final Cut Pro
X to edit the music video as it gave us different effects and it gave us more choices for
effects than IMovie.We used Final Cut to arrange our clips and to add transitions.We
edited the lighting in some of the clips to make it brighter or darker to reflect the
stage of their relationship.The digipak and advert was created using Photoshop.To
create the advert we took a picture of the silhouette of the main character in our
music video.We then added a purple/pink color overlay to change to the image as
purple and pink are connoted with love and relationships and romance.
