This is a textual analysis on Kid Cudi's day'n'nite using theories created by Rick Altman

audiences need to see and hear something new, as they
will eventually find certain music and then seek something
else. Altman also believes that new formulas are being
created and that genres are only in continued existence
because they are borrowing conventions and characteristics
from other genres, which can help the artist’s audience
grow as well as satisfy his original following.

2. One song that I immediately think of as soon as I hear Rick

Angles. This is an example of a low angle shot that shows Kid
Cudi looking upwards. I think that this signifies that he is
looking upwards and trying to move on to new music.

new stage in his
career.

4. Elements of Mise-En-Scene are also used in the making of
this video and in this shot the location is an important part in
the message being sent to Kid Cudi’s audience. This location
is a stereotype of where men go to relax or have a good
time. However, we can see Kid Cudi here looking rather
troubled as he wanders through other people

implies that he should
not be there. This is
perhaps why he looks
rather troubled.
