I was very sweaty when I just finished an injury on my hand. We were
scrimmaging Brighton Orange the toughest team in the league. I was running
drills still with my team Brighton Black with all my Wide Receiver friends. The
coach was having us run our personal play the x-slant.
We started walking over there, I was very nervous. I thought to myself, "would
if somebody hit me with their face mask in my hand or if my hand slammed
against the wall". I was just hoping that I was not done for the season. We
started on defense first, I was playing Safety. Boom! The seventh play of the
drive somebody hit me and I went flying down to the ground. I felt my hand-it
was okay but my foot was in pain. I got back and continued to play but then we
went on offense so I had to play Wide Receiver.
I was limping in pain but luckily I got pulled out. For conditioning after we
scrimmaged the worst thing happened to me-we had to do gasers. It's when we
go ten yards and back, twenty yards and back, thirty yards and back, and fifty
yards and back four times! I finished last for almost every one of them.
The next day I went to the doctor. He came in with the x-rays and told me
something worse, I could not play in two weeks! Tears came down my eyes in
bottles of water. I said to myself, "football is a very tough sport".
