3. “In our media-infused, gadget-crazed, eternally
wired world, could it be that games played on
the very same electronic devices that keep us
indoors and locked away from nature will entice
us to step into the light, inhale the fresh air, and
take the time to smell the roses?” -Dr. Bill Chameides,
dean of Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment and member of the
National Academy of Sciences
4. •Sedentary, hyper-connected kids
is a global reality.

mental health disorder
– 85% decline in creativity

PRODUCT BACKGROUND | US device penetration overall
10. There is an unmet need to create content for kids to
get outside that is as rich and exciting as what they
can play on a smartphone or iPad, indoors.
Our app will be the first of its kind to offer both
indoor and outdoor experiences with nature. The
indoor content will be engrossing and the outdoor
content will give adults the tools needed to be a
confident guide for their children outdoors.
Ultimately, the app will enable educators, families
and communities to explore the outdoors together
and increase environmental literacy.
PRODUCT BACKGROUND | Unmet consumer need
18. EDUCATION BENEFITS | nature and technology working
together
IslandWood, Nature Play, Geocaching and
Zeno will be providing outdoor educational
content that integrates math and science into
missions in order to engage and motivate
students to learn, play and explore nature.
Students will be able to interact with
technology and nature together to enhance
their learning experiences and increase their
environmental literacy.
