A conceptual statement and vision for the project is approached for development of design
process after a detail research study of individual students thesis design project. Primary
Design process begins by conceptual understanding of students which carries the foundation
of thesis project, research analysis for design are progressed by site issues, social, cultural,
and physical context, theoretical and pragmatic approach, phenomenological or infrastructure
issues etc; which are few of the key issues for the development of a strong design along with
other project specific concerns of each students individual project which clearly signifies and
expresses the attitude of students towards the project and its content. In order to realize the
projects potential students must delve into three dimensional study of project onto existing
parameters of site, by studying structure and materials, spatial order of floor plans and
circulation patterns, lighting, access, vistas and environment etc.

3. Conceptual Design:
Conceptual phase must be approached by Study models, sketches, drawings, or illustrations
etc; for the conceptual vision, master conceptual planning, master plan model, conceptual
models and study models; how students perceive their specific project design and its progress.
Expression of project must be adopted through excellent visual graphics and verbal/written
expression in reference to the site and theme of the project
4. Students continue their conceptual vision process into bringing the design intentions to a
preliminary development phase by observing ground realities related to their project.
At this design phase students focus on issues of problem solving related to spatial planning
of functions, structure, construction methods or materials, master planning in reference
to their site and its context of the project program, how to evolve a comprehensive design
into a prospective conclusion of their thesis design statement.
This process must be done extensively to reach design goals which reflect student’s potential
as a holistic project. Considerations of practical issues related site, context, building
orientation, building design, program or architectural language approach towards its
program etc are emphasized. How to bring the dream vision of thesis into reality.
Preliminary design phase must be approached by Sketches, Working drawings (plans,
sections, elevations) structure/ detail drawings etc; master planning, preliminary design
models and detail study models, master plan model further developed; all the process must be
developed with excellent detailed renderings and graphics skills that depict design
initiation.

5. Design Development:
The final phase of the thesis design should comprise of finishing conclusions of design
issues accumulated from detail exercise of design methodologies. In this phase students will
conclude and finalize their design by developing a comprehensive design strategy which
accumulates their whole design project intentions and accomplishments.
Design Development phase must be approached by Final Detail drawings related to
planning, construction and structure or spatial organization etc; master plan, design
models and sectional models, master plan model Finalized; all the process must be
approached with detailed renderings and graphics skills.
Presentation proficiency of student’s individual work will play a key role in expressing
their project.
6. Dream Realization through:
- Schematics ( Working Drawings)
- Three Dimensional ( space – structure – light – materials)
- Site Specific (Contextual)
- Master Planning ( Landscaping – Zoning)
- Structural ( Environment – Materials)
- Spatial ( Planning – Circulation – Program - Skin)
