3. O Introduction:
O District Karak, situated in Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa province of Pakistan is
lying 123 km from Peshawar on the main Indus Highway between
Peshawar and Karachi. The population of district Karak by the 2017 census
is 706,299. Karak is known for its fertile production in term of human
resources and education having high literacy rate. Education is the primary
focus of the major population of the district. It is due to the reason that the
land is not too fertile. Water scarcity and lack of irrigation system make the
occupation of farming least demanding. Karak is enriched with natural
resources of oil and gas, Uranium and salt mines. A number of multinational
renowned companies are working in exploration of oil and gas resources in
Karak.
4. O Due to high literacy rate and quality of education in Karak, many students
of the district qualify to higher positions in their professional life especially
in the fields of Engineering and Medical. The trend of the education is
targeted towards Engineering and Medical sciences and parents eagerly
wait for their children to be an Engineer or Doctor. This thinking has
created enormous problems besides competition among the students in
the society. The student think that he has to fulfil the expectations of their
parents. Unfortunately, in some cases, upon failure the students decide
about vanishing their lives in form of suicide, others become drug addicted
and become havoc for the society.
5. O Karak is population of diverse talent. Unfortunately, the students have been
cantered towards medical and Engineering. In this competition of medical and
Engineering, students either ignore their actual talent or it remain un explored. In
addition to the competition for medical and Engineering, other reasons behind
unexplored talent is lacking of sports, recreational facilities, avoiding the
importance of arts and other sciences. Talented youth of the karak are playing
different sports in their individual capacities. They are not finding the platform to
manifest their performances. Many cultural activities are performed without proper
advertisement. Many skilled population including men and women prepare cultural
dresses and household substance but are limited to their villages. There is no
such platform to manifest their performance in national and international levels. By
providing proper sport facilities and art schools, the potential of the youth can be
explored and can be used in effective way to minimize the societal problems and
boost the economic, social background of the individuals and community.
