2. Far reaching changes to Spectrum
• Cambium delivers FWA solutions to WISPs, Enterprise WiFi
and IOT all managed through one pane of glass.
• Much has changed in the last year
• Ofcom have enabled access to 3.4 to 4.2GHz for many different uses
• Fixed Wireless Access
• Cellular infill
• …
• The new spectrum is very large ~ 800MHz
• Opportunities for WISPs include
• FWA cells which are much larger leading to lower cost
• Attaching 5G small cell technology to the same masts and backhaul. In order to
deliver a broad range of services to outlying villages.
• The new spectrum is a game changer for current WISP applications
• It enables longer range
• It enables better propagation through trees

3. Further changes to spectrum in the past year
• Low cost Gbps Wireless through
• FWA and PTP access to 60GHz
• FWA and PTP access to 26GHz

4. Priorities
• 4% of the country still does not have access to superfast but rather have rates
like 0.5Mbps
• These consumers would rather have superfast now than have to wait for Fibre.
• “Outside In” is as yet unfunded and with the number of other priorities is
unlikely to be (IMO).
• The new spectrum however gives a real possibility of delivering super/ultrafast
to the more difficult 4%.
• Can the UK alternates become as successful as the Italians where the top
provider according to NetFlix is a wireless provider?
