The Illinois Workforce Board provides oversight and strategic leadership for workforce development programs in Illinois to meet the needs of employers and workers. Appointed by the governor, the Board reviews the progress of the state's workforce efforts and develops policies to implement various initiatives. The Board includes leaders from business, government agencies, industry, labor, education, and community organizations, as appointed by the governor, to align workforce programs with the state's economic goals.

• The Illinois Workforce Board provides

to further the state’s goals of meeting the
workforce needs of employers and
workers.

• Appointed by the governor, the Board is
charged with the task of reviewing the
progress of the state’s workforce
development efforts. It spearheads
various initiatives and is integral in the
development of the policies that implement
them.

4. Who makes up the Board?
• The Board, in accordance with federal legislation, includes
leaders from business, state agencies, industry, labor,
education and community-based organizations.
• The governor also appoints the Co-Chairs.

the private sector co-chair.
