Telecommuting Essay
Telecommuting, e–commuting, e–work, telework, working at home (WAH), or working from home (WFH) is a work arrangement in which
employees enjoy flexibility in working location and hours. In other words, the daily commute to a central place of work is replaced by
telecommunication links. Many work from home, while others, occasionally also referred to as nomad workers or web commuters utilize mobile
telecommunications technology to work from coffee shops or myriad other locations. Telework is a broader term, referring to substituting
telecommunications for any form of work–related travel, thereby eliminating the distance restrictions of telecommuting. All telecommuters are
teleworkers but not all teleworkers are telecommuters. A successful...show more content...
Men and women differ in their attitudes towards telecommuting. Women have a more favorable attitude towards telecommuting than men. Recent
findings show that traditional roles of males and females have not changed significantly. In other words, it seems that most of the home related
domestic issues are still seen as the primary responsibility of women and for this reason women favor telecommuting over men. In addition, married
employees have a more favorable attitude toward telecommuting than unmarried.
Benefits/Advantages for individuals
Reduced travel time and costs–This is the most obvious benefit and, for many teleworkers, a primary motivation. Most teleworkers have used at least
part of this time to get more work done, in contrast to the "relaxed lifestyle" image painted by the media.
Improved work opportunities –Work opportunities are not confined to jobs within reasonable commuting distance.
Less disruption to family life–An effective telework and flexible working program reduces the need for relocation to take up "career moves" and other
job changes.
Better balance of work and family life–Even though the teleworker may put in more hours of effective work, he or she can still expect to see more of
the family and can more easily participate in home responsibilities such as caring for children, shopping

Alcohol Addiction Essay
"Alcohol affects virtually every organ system of the body".– Jacqueline Langwith. Alcoholism is a disease, it ruins the human body, as well as the
host's family and friends. It puts high risk on someone, and makes someone function off of alcohol. Alcohol also changes someone's mood and attitude
day by day.
Knowing Alcohol This is about seeing my dad grow closer and closer to being an alcoholic as the older I grew. He used to be a very good family
man, he would sit back, help me shoot my BB gun and have a couple of beers every other night. Eventually when I turned 9, him and my Mom
divorced. He lost everything. The older I got it grew worse, he had alcoholic girlfriends and they would get in fights every night and get the cops
called. Eventually...show more content...
It's a problem because it's causing more deaths than natural causes, murder, and driving accidents all together. "It's a problem for young teens or
children ages (1–18+)" –CDC because they can grow up and have drunk parents that could care less about what they do or where they end up. The
solution to seek treatment to become permanently sober is ideal because it opens up a new chapter in your life when you're recovering from
addiction. Time is precious, you need to act immediately because if one of your loved ones is currently in alcohol addiction then they could be doing
serious harm to themselves or their body, it is important to act as fast and effectively as you can. You can start with seeing a doctor and seeking

Different Learning Styles Essay
Different Learning Styles
Students have different ways to learn. Some people are hands on learners or visual learners. Teachers try to adapt the way they teach; to the way their
students learn the best. The information that is being taught should be made fun so that the students remember the information. Schools are also using
new technology to help students learn. Different learning styles have different effects on people.
Different learning styles are the talk of many school districts from near and far. The study of different learning styles has gone back since the late 19th
to the early 20th centuries. We all know that people have different ways of learning, so teachers try to teach the way their...show more content...

Type Of Liars Essay
Types of Liars
There is something that often troubles our society. It is worse than all kinds of cancers combined and as horrifying to see. It is hard to catch and is
more common than the common cold. It is lying. Everyone at one point in their life has lied. Many lie to the most important people in their lives
because they don't want to create conflict between them, but it just ends up making a bigger mess than if they would have told the truth. Some lie to
other people they hardly even know because they want to be like them or make a good impression. Everyone tells lies once in a while, although the
number and severity of the lies varies from one person to the other. There are three types of liars: the sociopathic liar, the...show more content...
It is difficult to find treatment for pathological liars because these people don't see anything wrong with themselves. Most of the time treatment consists
of medication and therapy. Treatment success for pathological liars depends on how willing the patient is to seek help. The problem with them, though,
is that they tend to lie during therapy and that can be hard to reach treatment goals. Experienced therapists are able to tell when pathological liars are
not telling the truth, and they are able to help them realize what they have been doing and how it has affected their

Pokemon Essay
Gibson 1 Jake Gibson English 102 Gotta Catch Em' All! What does Pokemon give to the world? Does it provide more than just joy to those who
are socially awkward? Has Pokemon affected society for the best or the worst? There are many instances in which Pokemon has done both for the
world. Pokemon has helped children with math and English. Pokemon has provided friendship to those who do not fit in as well as others.
Pokemon has evoked many joyous moments in this world, but for every good thing, there is a bad thing waiting to accompany it. Schools have
banned Pokemon at the playground and in class primarily because of fights over cards. I have been in feuds over Pokemon cards that did not end
well. There are other reasons as to why Pokemon...show more content...
If the attack power number is less than or equal to that of the resistance number of the attacked Pokemon, it will do no damage to the attacked
Pokemon. Simply put, if a water Pokemon with 20 resistances to fire will not be hurt by a fire attack of 20 or less. These resistances show the
cancellation process of positive and negative numbers. The attack is the negative number being added to the resistance. Since they are the same
number, they cancel each other out and nothing happens, just like arithmetic (1). Pokemon may seem like it is meant to just be a game, but it is
more than just that. It has been used as a teaching tool on a couple of different levels. A pokedex is a device used in the Pokemon series which
identifies the different types and species of Pokemon. It is basically the Pokemon encyclopedia. Now back to the pedagogy that Pokemon brings. If
children are trying to understand the OPAC system (Open Public Library Catalog), then students who are familiar with Pokemon can relate it to the
Pokedex (Porcaro 2). Just like the Pokedex, the OPAC is a huge resource that embodies that of an encyclopedia for a library. In fact, the word
Pokedex is comprised of two root words; Pokemon and Index. Pokemon has developed a new craze through many different aspects of entertainment.
There is an animated cartoon series based on the

Types of Dementia
DEMENTIA'S Dementia is a vague term used to describe a person that has loss of memory and change in behavior and activities. It goes beyond the
forgetfulness and absent minded. It is commonly used In reference to the elderly, when cognitive abilities start to slip from one's own control.
Dementia cannot be diagnosed due to memory loss alone. It must be accompanied by two or more interruptions of brain function. Individuals who
suffer from a disease that causes dementia undergo a number of changes. Simple daily tasks such as dressing or bathing may also become a problem.
Anything can be a cause for dementia, a stroke, a car accident or even another disease. Here, I will compare four most frequent causes of dementia
with four least...show more content...
Some types of traumatic brain injury – particularly if repetitive, such as received by sports players – have been linked to certain dementias appearing
later in life. Evidence is weak, however, that a single brain injury will raise the likelihood of having a degenerative dementia such as Alzheimer's
disease. Dementia can also be caused by Prion diseases from certain types of protein, as in CJD (Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease) and GSS
(Gerstmann–Straussler–Scheinker syndrome). HIV infection – when the problem is simply termed HIV–associated dementia. How the virus damages
brain cells is not certain. Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, degenerative, invariably fatal brain disorder. It affects about one person in every
one million people per year worldwide; in the United States there are about 300 cases per year. CJD usually appears in later life and runs a rapid
course. Typically, onset of symptoms occurs about age 60, and about 90 percent of individuals die within 1 year. In the early stages of disease, people
may have failing memory, behavioral changes, lack of coordination and visual disturbances. As the illness progresses, mental deterioration becomes
pronounced and involuntary movements, blindness, weakness of extremities, and coma may occur. Reversible factors – some dementias can be treated
by reversing the effects of underlying causes, including medication interactions, depression, vitamin deficiencies (for example,

Compatibilism Essay
In response to both determinists and libertarians' argument, compatibilist believe that both arguments are compatible. In other words, compatibilists
believe that belief one and two can be true and can exist together. Compatibilists argue that since there was a misunderstanding of the concept of free
will by both determinists and libertarians, it created the idea that the two beliefs were incompatible. This mistake is associating freedom in terms of
cause, rather than "freedom" as something different from "uncaused". In fact, free actions can be caused if a person acts on their own free will to do
something. Therefore, actions can be free and caused.
According to a compatibilists name Ayer, he argued that in order to distinguish whether

They argue that the two beliefs are important in the sense that one belief defines another. Because the two beliefs are compatible, there is no room for
contradicting the field of science or free will. In addition, both arguments allow a large number of important practices and institutions to be able to
justify a case by looking at both sides of the argument.
However, there are two possible drawbacks to the argument of the compatibilists. The first challenge comes from the determinist's argument that
causation does not leave room for free will. The objection that Ayer presents is why should we think the causation is constrained? We should think of
freedom as a constraint, rather than causation because we must be free sometimes. In response to the objection by determinists is the concept of
freedom being constrained is a failure to face reality.
The second challenge is that determinist argues that, because all our action is caused, we are like the kleptomaniac (impulse control disorder) and we
cannot deny that we are a kleptomaniac. A compatibilist may reply that all actions should not be treated the same and there is a difference between the
cases of the kleptomaniac and the case of standard

Preceptor Experience Essay
The second half of my preceptorship went well and I learned a lot. I felt comfortable giving medications, performing assessments, and caring for the
patients. I was able to complete all of my objectives. We were in the ER for one day, and the rest of the time my preceptor was the Charge Nurse on
the med–surg floor. I gave medications every day that I was precepting. When giving medications I am very cautious. I verify the patient, and we
scan the patient and medications. But sometimes medications are split in half and I needed to make sure to set them aside during scanning. One
day I scanned an aspirin and the computer said it was for the wrong patient. I verified the medication on the MAR, and it was the correct
medication. My preceptor said that happens sometimes, and we manually entered the medication. I feel comfortable giving medications, but will
continue to be cautious. I performed assessments every day of preceptorship. Lung sounds can be difficult for me to identify, so I liked being able
to listen and ask my preceptor if she heard the same thing. I heard a whooshing sound over the heart of one of my patients and spent extra time
listening to it. I guess he noticed that I was confused because he told me that he has a Pig Valve. Some of the other sounds I could verify were
crackles and wheezes....show more content...
This was awkward for me since I have never been around it. I did not help with post–mortem care because they were not our patients and we were busy
doing other things. My preceptor had to call Lifeshare for organ and tissue donation, even though the patient was not an organ donor. This is standard
for all patients that pass away. The spouse of the patients insisted that the patient wasn't an organ donor, but Lifeshare insists on talking to a family
member. After telling Lifeshare that the patient's religion was a Seventh Day Adventist, they didn't need to talk to the family because that religion does
not donate

The Different Types of Prayer Essay
The Different Types of Prayer
Prayer is a form of communication between God and people. Christians use prayers in both public and private worship as away of communicating
with God. They also use prayers to listen to God and receive guidance, support and comfort from him. The prayers may be said in silence or aloud.
Jesus taught that people must be persistent in prayer. They should not expect their prayers to be answered straight away. Jesus taught that Christians
must pray with true faith and devotion.
Prayer was the way through which Jesus could talk to his father, God. Jesus believed that God had a purpose for his creation. He used prayers as the
means by which he could discover this...show more content...
A confession prayer Г "Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us."
This confession prayer is asking for the forgiveness of their sins. It also says that forgive us because we forgive those people do bad to us.
Christians believe that unless they forgive others, they can't be forgiven themselves. Therefore it says. "...as we forgive the wrongs that others have
done to us."
The second type of prayer I will look at is thanksgiving.
THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving is thanking God.
When Christians want to thank God for something, they say a thanksgiving prayer. This kind of prayer helps Christians feel grateful and stops them
from taking things for granted.
People can thank God for various things. For example: getting better/ recovering from an illness; giving them life; some good news they've received etc.
I interviewed a Christian on thanksgiving and this is what she said:
"Every time I go to church, I thank God for my loving husband and my two beautiful children who he's blessed me with. I'm thankful for all that he's
given me– a place where I earn my living, a place that I can call home and so much more. Every time, I have a problem, I pray to him. I ask him for
help and guidance."
Looking at this interview, I can see that this person is very satisfied with her life

Essay On Purple Hibiscus
Purple Hibiscus Essay TDQ #1
In Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie the characters Papa and Jaja's relationship is put to the test when Jaja begins to rebel. When Jaja
misses communion that is when everything changes, including Papa and Jaja's relationship. Jaja is forced to grow up at a young age after realizing
there is world outside of his father's home. After becoming his own person Jaja feels even more protective and responsible for his family. In Purple
Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie the relationship between papa and Jaja is strained because of Jaja's disobedience.
Palm Sunday is when everything changes in the Achike household. Jaja misses mass and that begins the turning point of their relationship. In the text it
states...show more content...
Jaja feels as though it's his responsibility to take the blame in the household. In chapter 15 it states "The police came a few hours later they said they
wanted to ask some question Somebody at St. Agnes hospital had contacted them, they had a copy of the autopsy report with them Jaja, did not wait
for their questions; he told them he had used rat poison, that he put it in Papa's tea, they allowed him to change his shirt before they took him away"
(Adichie, Page 291) Jaja takes responsibility for his mama after she poisoned papa, despite knowing the consequences. Jaja's guilt about not protecting
his family earlier leads him to make the decision of taking blame. When Papa was alive, he was the man of the house, yet Jaja stepping up, put an
uncomfortable shift in their relationship.
In conclusion the characters in Adichie's "Purple Hibiscus" Papa and Jaja's relationship is almost nonexistent due to Jaja's rebellion. After Jaja misses
communion that is the beginning of their strained relationship. After spending time away from home Jaja learns of life outside of his controlling Papa.
After transitioning into his own man Jaja begins to stand up for his

Economics Elasticity Essay
Businesses know that they face demand curves, but rarely do they know what these curves look like. Yet sometimes a business needs to have a
good idea of what part of a demand curve looks like if it is to make good decisions. If Rick's Pizza raises its prices by ten percent, what will happen to
its revenues? The answer depends on how consumers will respond. Will they cut back purchases a little or a lot? This question of how responsive
consumers are to price changes involves the economic concept of elasticity.
Elasticity is a measure of responsiveness. Two words are important here. The word "measure" means that elasticity results are reported as numbers, or
elasticity coefficients. The word "responsiveness" means that there is...show more content...
When it is greater than one, economists say that demand is elastic.
Products which have few good substitutes generally have a lower elasticity of demand than products with many substitutes. As a result, more
broadly–defined products have a lower elasticity than narrowly defined products. The price elasticity of demand for meat will be lower than the price
elasticity of pork, and the price elasticity for soft drinks will be less elastic than the price elasticity for colas, which in turn will be less elastic than the
price elasticity for
Pepsi.
Time plays an important role in determining both consumer and producer responsiveness for many items. The longer people have to make
adjustments, the more adjustments they will make. When the price of gasoline rose rapidly in the late 1970s as a result of the OPEC cartel, the only
adjustment consumers could initially make was to drive less. With time they could also move closer to work or find jobs closer to home, and switch to
more fuel–efficient cars.
The concept of elasticity can help explain some situations that at first glance may seem puzzling. If American farmers all have excellent harvests,
they may have a very poor year financially. They may be better off if they all have mediocre harvests. If a bus company decides it needs more
revenue and tries to get it by raising fares, its revenues may decrease rather than increase.
Inelastic Demand

Types of Friends Essay
There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people to survive in this world is friendship. Without
friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of
friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy
and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to
be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of seeing double sides of something, like, a character

They can learn to get some confidence because confidence is really important in order to perform better. Being an overconfident person is also
beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust
and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in the future. I have a friend that is really confident that
when he performed for a speech competition at school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition. We
can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into
something good. We have to be able to measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed. Being a
competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will
work and study harder than any other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks on test or get an
extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a
friend that is competitive. She is so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get the best scores

Telecommuting Essay

  • 1. Telecommuting Essay Telecommuting, e–commuting, e–work, telework, working at home (WAH), or working from home (WFH) is a work arrangement in which employees enjoy flexibility in working location and hours. In other words, the daily commute to a central place of work is replaced by telecommunication links. Many work from home, while others, occasionally also referred to as nomad workers or web commuters utilize mobile telecommunications technology to work from coffee shops or myriad other locations. Telework is a broader term, referring to substituting telecommunications for any form of work–related travel, thereby eliminating the distance restrictions of telecommuting. All telecommuters are teleworkers but not all teleworkers are telecommuters. A successful...show more content... Men and women differ in their attitudes towards telecommuting. Women have a more favorable attitude towards telecommuting than men. Recent findings show that traditional roles of males and females have not changed significantly. In other words, it seems that most of the home related domestic issues are still seen as the primary responsibility of women and for this reason women favor telecommuting over men. In addition, married employees have a more favorable attitude toward telecommuting than unmarried. Benefits/Advantages for individuals Reduced travel time and costs–This is the most obvious benefit and, for many teleworkers, a primary motivation. Most teleworkers have used at least part of this time to get more work done, in contrast to the "relaxed lifestyle" image painted by the media. Improved work opportunities –Work opportunities are not confined to jobs within reasonable commuting distance. Less disruption to family life–An effective telework and flexible working program reduces the need for relocation to take up "career moves" and other job changes. Better balance of work and family life–Even though the teleworker may put in more hours of effective work, he or she can still expect to see more of the family and can more easily participate in home responsibilities such as caring for children, shopping Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Alcohol Addiction Essay "Alcohol affects virtually every organ system of the body".– Jacqueline Langwith. Alcoholism is a disease, it ruins the human body, as well as the host's family and friends. It puts high risk on someone, and makes someone function off of alcohol. Alcohol also changes someone's mood and attitude day by day. Knowing Alcohol This is about seeing my dad grow closer and closer to being an alcoholic as the older I grew. He used to be a very good family man, he would sit back, help me shoot my BB gun and have a couple of beers every other night. Eventually when I turned 9, him and my Mom divorced. He lost everything. The older I got it grew worse, he had alcoholic girlfriends and they would get in fights every night and get the cops called. Eventually...show more content... • 3. Different Learning Styles Essay Different Learning Styles Students have different ways to learn. Some people are hands on learners or visual learners. Teachers try to adapt the way they teach; to the way their students learn the best. The information that is being taught should be made fun so that the students remember the information. Schools are also using new technology to help students learn. Different learning styles have different effects on people. Different learning styles are the talk of many school districts from near and far. The study of different learning styles has gone back since the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. • 4. Type Of Liars Essay Types of Liars There is something that often troubles our society. It is worse than all kinds of cancers combined and as horrifying to see. It is hard to catch and is more common than the common cold. It is lying. Everyone at one point in their life has lied. Many lie to the most important people in their lives because they don't want to create conflict between them, but it just ends up making a bigger mess than if they would have told the truth. Some lie to other people they hardly even know because they want to be like them or make a good impression. Everyone tells lies once in a while, although the number and severity of the lies varies from one person to the other. There are three types of liars: the sociopathic liar, the...show more content... It is difficult to find treatment for pathological liars because these people don't see anything wrong with themselves. Most of the time treatment consists of medication and therapy. Treatment success for pathological liars depends on how willing the patient is to seek help. Experienced therapists are able to tell when pathological liars are not telling the truth, and they are able to help them realize what they have been doing and how it has affected their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Pokemon Essay Gibson 1 Jake Gibson English 102 Gotta Catch Em' All! What does Pokemon give to the world? Does it provide more than just joy to those who are socially awkward? Has Pokemon affected society for the best or the worst? There are many instances in which Pokemon has done both for the world. Pokemon has helped children with math and English. Pokemon has provided friendship to those who do not fit in as well as others. Pokemon has evoked many joyous moments in this world, but for every good thing, there is a bad thing waiting to accompany it. Schools have banned Pokemon at the playground and in class primarily because of fights over cards. I have been in feuds over Pokemon cards that did not end well. There are other reasons as to why Pokemon...show more content... Simply put, if a water Pokemon with 20 resistances to fire will not be hurt by a fire attack of 20 or less. These resistances show the cancellation process of positive and negative numbers. The attack is the negative number being added to the resistance. Since they are the same number, they cancel each other out and nothing happens, just like arithmetic (1). Pokemon may seem like it is meant to just be a game, but it is more than just that. It has been used as a teaching tool on a couple of different levels. A pokedex is a device used in the Pokemon series which identifies the different types and species of Pokemon. It is basically the Pokemon encyclopedia. Now back to the pedagogy that Pokemon brings. If children are trying to understand the OPAC system (Open Public Library Catalog), then students who are familiar with Pokemon can relate it to the Pokedex (Porcaro 2). Just like the Pokedex, the OPAC is a huge resource that embodies that of an encyclopedia for a library. In fact, the word Pokedex is comprised of two root words; Pokemon and Index. Pokemon has developed a new craze through many different aspects of entertainment. There is an animated cartoon series based on the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It goes beyond the forgetfulness and absent minded. It is commonly used In reference to the elderly, when cognitive abilities start to slip from one's own control. Dementia cannot be diagnosed due to memory loss alone. It must be accompanied by two or more interruptions of brain function. Individuals who suffer from a disease that causes dementia undergo a number of changes. Simple daily tasks such as dressing or bathing may also become a problem. Some types of traumatic brain injury – particularly if repetitive, such as received by sports players – have been linked to certain dementias appearing later in life. Evidence is weak, however, that a single brain injury will raise the likelihood of having a degenerative dementia such as Alzheimer's disease. Dementia can also be caused by Prion diseases from certain types of protein, as in CJD (Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease) and GSS (Gerstmann–Straussler–Scheinker syndrome). HIV infection – when the problem is simply termed HIV–associated dementia. How the virus damages brain cells is not certain. Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, degenerative, invariably fatal brain disorder. It affects about one person in every one million people per year worldwide; in the United States there are about 300 cases per year. CJD usually appears in later life and runs a rapid course. Typically, onset of symptoms occurs about age 60, and about 90 percent of individuals die within 1 year. In the early stages of disease, people may have failing memory, behavioral changes, lack of coordination and visual disturbances. As the illness progresses, mental deterioration becomes pronounced and involuntary movements, blindness, weakness of extremities, and coma may occur. Reversible factors – some dementias can be treated by reversing the effects of underlying causes, including medication interactions, depression, vitamin deficiencies (for example, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Compatibilism Essay In response to both determinists and libertarians' argument, compatibilist believe that both arguments are compatible. In other words, compatibilists believe that belief one and two can be true and can exist together. Compatibilists argue that since there was a misunderstanding of the concept of free will by both determinists and libertarians, it created the idea that the two beliefs were incompatible. This mistake is associating freedom in terms of cause, rather than "freedom" as something different from "uncaused". In fact, free actions can be caused if a person acts on their own free will to do something. Therefore, actions can be free and caused. According to a compatibilists name Ayer, he argued that in order to distinguish whether ...show more content... They argue that the two beliefs are important in the sense that one belief defines another. Because the two beliefs are compatible, there is no room for contradicting the field of science or free will. In addition, both arguments allow a large number of important practices and institutions to be able to justify a case by looking at both sides of the argument. However, there are two possible drawbacks to the argument of the compatibilists. The first challenge comes from the determinist's argument that causation does not leave room for free will. The objection that Ayer presents is why should we think the causation is constrained? We should think of freedom as a constraint, rather than causation because we must be free sometimes. In response to the objection by determinists is the concept of freedom being constrained is a failure to face reality. The second challenge is that determinist argues that, because all our action is caused, we are like the kleptomaniac (impulse control disorder) and we cannot deny that we are a kleptomaniac. A compatibilist may reply that all actions should not be treated the same and there is a difference between the cases of the kleptomaniac and the case of standard Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Preceptor Experience Essay The second half of my preceptorship went well and I learned a lot. I felt comfortable giving medications, performing assessments, and caring for the patients. I was able to complete all of my objectives. We were in the ER for one day, and the rest of the time my preceptor was the Charge Nurse on the med–surg floor. I gave medications every day that I was precepting. When giving medications I am very cautious. I verify the patient, and we scan the patient and medications. But sometimes medications are split in half and I needed to make sure to set them aside during scanning. One day I scanned an aspirin and the computer said it was for the wrong patient. I verified the medication on the MAR, and it was the correct medication. My preceptor said that happens sometimes, and we manually entered the medication. I feel comfortable giving medications, but will continue to be cautious. I performed assessments every day of preceptorship. Lung sounds can be difficult for me to identify, so I liked being able to listen and ask my preceptor if she heard the same thing. I heard a whooshing sound over the heart of one of my patients and spent extra time listening to it. I guess he noticed that I was confused because he told me that he has a Pig Valve. Some of the other sounds I could verify were crackles and wheezes....show more content... This was awkward for me since I have never been around it. I did not help with post–mortem care because they were not our patients and we were busy doing other things. My preceptor had to call Lifeshare for organ and tissue donation, even though the patient was not an organ donor. This is standard for all patients that pass away. The spouse of the patients insisted that the patient wasn't an organ donor, but Lifeshare insists on talking to a family member. After telling Lifeshare that the patient's religion was a Seventh Day Adventist, they didn't need to talk to the family because that religion does not donate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. The Different Types of Prayer Essay The Different Types of Prayer Prayer is a form of communication between God and people. Christians use prayers in both public and private worship as away of communicating with God. They also use prayers to listen to God and receive guidance, support and comfort from him. The prayers may be said in silence or aloud. Jesus taught that people must be persistent in prayer. They should not expect their prayers to be answered straight away. Jesus taught that Christians must pray with true faith and devotion. Prayer was the way through which Jesus could talk to his father, God. Jesus believed that God had a purpose for his creation. He used prayers as the means by which he could discover this...show more content... A confession prayer Г "Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us." This confession prayer is asking for the forgiveness of their sins. It also says that forgive us because we forgive those people do bad to us. Christians believe that unless they forgive others, they can't be forgiven themselves. Therefore it says. "...as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us." The second type of prayer I will look at is thanksgiving. THANKSGIVING Thanksgiving is thanking God. When Christians want to thank God for something, they say a thanksgiving prayer. This kind of prayer helps Christians feel grateful and stops them from taking things for granted.

For example: getting better/ recovering from an illness; giving them life; some good news they've received etc. I interviewed a Christian on thanksgiving and this is what she said: "Every time I go to church, I thank God for my loving husband and my two beautiful children who he's blessed me with. I'm thankful for all that he's given me– a place where I earn my living, a place that I can call home and so much more. Every time, I have a problem, I pray to him. I ask him for help and guidance." When Jaja misses communion that is when everything changes, including Papa and Jaja's relationship. Jaja is forced to grow up at a young age after realizing there is world outside of his father's home. After becoming his own person Jaja feels even more protective and responsible for his family. In Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie the relationship between papa and Jaja is strained because of Jaja's disobedience. Palm Sunday is when everything changes in the Achike household. Jaja misses mass and that begins the turning point of their relationship. In the text it states...show more content... Jaja feels as though it's his responsibility to take the blame in the household. In chapter 15 it states "The police came a few hours later they said they wanted to ask some question Somebody at St. Agnes hospital had contacted them, they had a copy of the autopsy report with them Jaja, did not wait for their questions; he told them he had used rat poison, that he put it in Papa's tea, they allowed him to change his shirt before they took him away" (Adichie, Page 291) Jaja takes responsibility for his mama after she poisoned papa, despite knowing the consequences. Jaja's guilt about not protecting his family earlier leads him to make the decision of taking blame. When Papa was alive, he was the man of the house, yet Jaja stepping up, put an uncomfortable shift in their relationship. In conclusion the characters in Adichie's "Purple Hibiscus" Papa and Jaja's relationship is almost nonexistent due to Jaja's rebellion. • 12. Economics Elasticity Essay Businesses know that they face demand curves, but rarely do they know what these curves look like. Yet sometimes a business needs to have a good idea of what part of a demand curve looks like if it is to make good decisions. If Rick's Pizza raises its prices by ten percent, what will happen to its revenues? The answer depends on how consumers will respond. Will they cut back purchases a little or a lot? This question of how responsive consumers are to price changes involves the economic concept of elasticity. Elasticity is a measure of responsiveness. Two words are important here. The word "measure" means that elasticity results are reported as numbers, or elasticity coefficients. The word "responsiveness" means that there is...show more content... When it is greater than one, economists say that demand is elastic. Products which have few good substitutes generally have a lower elasticity of demand than products with many substitutes. As a result, more broadly–defined products have a lower elasticity than narrowly defined products. The price elasticity of demand for meat will be lower than the price elasticity of pork, and the price elasticity for soft drinks will be less elastic than the price elasticity for colas, which in turn will be less elastic than the price elasticity for Pepsi. Time plays an important role in determining both consumer and producer responsiveness for many items. The longer people have to make adjustments, the more adjustments they will make. When the price of gasoline rose rapidly in the late 1970s as a result of the OPEC cartel, the only adjustment consumers could initially make was to drive less. With time they could also move closer to work or find jobs closer to home, and switch to more fuel–efficient cars. The concept of elasticity can help explain some situations that at first glance may seem puzzling. If American farmers all have excellent harvests, they may have a very poor year financially. They may be better off if they all have mediocre harvests. If a bus company decides it needs more revenue and tries to get it by raising fares, its revenues may decrease rather than increase. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to be alone. I have a friend that is really confident that when he performed for a speech competition at school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition. We can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into something good. We have to be able to measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed. Being a competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will work and study harder than any other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks on test or get an extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them.
