EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I am a responsible person with an outgoing personality capable of working
independently to provide practical solutions to management problems in an
organization. I have 3 years working experience as a Group Financial Controller, and 9
years as Finance Manager at Westcon Africa Group a Distribution company in IT
products, in addition I have six years working experience in auditing, gained while
working with PKF KENYA Certified Public Accountants; I joined Samvir & Co. as an
Audit assistant in 1995. I have gained tremendous all round experience/exposure in
auditing in various institutions (i.e. manufacturing, service industry such as banks,
hospitals, & insurance)
WORK EXPERIENCE
WESTCON AFRICA GROUP.
Group Financial Controller:
March 2011 to Date:
 Transferred from Westcon Africa UK Limited in the UK to Westcon Africa
(Kenya) Limited based in Nairobi Kenya.
 As Group Financial Controller:
 Provide operational and programmatic support, and advise the management
team on financial matters.
 Participate in financial & strategic planning, preparation, interpretation and
analysis of financial statements highlighting key performance indicators of the
group.
 Participate in preparation of budgets of the group.
 Prepare consolidated financial statements for the group by the 5th working day
of the following month.
 Share with management on a regular basis reports on the performance of the
group.
 In charge of overseeing management of all statutory reporting activities.
 Review and implement financial policies and procedures.
 Train, give guidance, set, and monitor Key performance Indicators to finance
team.
 Able to work collaboratively with partners & colleagues in a multi-country
setting.
 Lead staff on working capital and fund management as well as on negotiating
finance facilities on behalf of the group from lending institutions.
