I. RATIONALE:
The School-Based Learning Action Cell (SLAC) is a professional development strategy under the K to
12 basic education program that aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in schools. It is
implemented through DepEd Order 35, s.2016, which mandates schools to organize and conduct
regular SLAC sessions.
SLAC is rooted on the need to improve student learning outcomes and enhance the competencies
of teachers. It provides platform for teachers to collaborate, reflect on their teaching practices and
identify solutions to common challenges in the classroom.. By engaging in a continuous process of self
assessment and professional development, teachers can enhance their knowledge, skills, and
attitudes towards teaching.
SLAC is a proactive approach to addressing the challenges of the K to 12 curriculum
implementation. Through regular SLAC sessions, teachers can align their instructional practices with
the standards of k to 12 curriculum, develop innovative and effective strategies and integrate
technology in the teaching and learning process.

A.5. Activity Rationale:
The Lun Padidu National High School has been consistent with the procedure of the School-Based
Management focusing on the Teaching-Learning process. The know-how of this process should equip
our teachers to be effective and efficient. One of the activity held in every school is the school
Learning Action Cell (SLAC) where teachers has to revisit, review on areas of concern in performing
their duties and responsibilities. It serves as a venue for teachers to identify their needs on
instructional concerns, support them for innovative practices that would enhance their skills and
competencies, equipped them with strategies and techniques in developing every learner holistically
and globally competitive.

develop and implement innovative teaching strategies aligned with the K to 12 Curriculum that
enhance student learning outcomes.
Enabling Objectives:
The activity aims to:
1. Enhance teacher’s competence, pedagogical knowledge, skills, attitudes in facilitating
learning-teaching process.
2. Enable teachers to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that
incorporate technology, active learning, and assessment for learning strategies to
enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
3. Collaborate with colleagues to identify common challenges in teaching and learning and
propose solutions to address these challenges.

A.8. Methodology:
1.The School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) will be held every last Friday of the month from May
2023 to December 2023.
2. The SLAC activity will start 1:00 o’clock to 5:00o’clock in the afternoon.
3. The master teacher in-charge will be the facilitator at the same time
, the resource speaker and will prepare the accomplishment report during and after the activity.
4.At the start of the session, orientation will be provided to the participants on the purpose,
objectives and expected outcomes of the SLAC.

5. Facilitator should encourage collaboration and discussion among the participants to identify
common issues and propose solutions.
6. Participants should be given time to develop action plan that address common challenge in
teaching-learning. The action plan should be SMART.(specific-measurable-achievable-relevant-time
bounded)
7.Participants should implement and monitor the progress and effectiveness of the plan on respective
classrooms.
8. At the end of every LAC session, participants should evaluate the effectiveness of the session and
reflect on their learning and development. The feedback will be used to improve the design and
delivery of future LAC sessions.
