There are 21 Radio stations playing Bollywood like, Radio Retro Bolly-
wood, Radio HSL,Hitsof Bollywood etc
Role of Radio in Bollywood films
1. Radio, love on air(2009 film)
1. Through Radio, in which Himesh plays
an RJ, pays tribute to all RJs of the world.
2. Rj’s act as love Guru and are there to
solve love problems.

Listening to the problems of others who are depressed.

Used for much serious purpose,to accept
truth, climax scene
Aamir and Siddharth kill the defense minister and they
hijack a radio station to voice their opinion about the c
orruption that they witnessed and dealt with. No sooner
do they announce themselves as the murderers of the
defense minister and more clearly as students and not
terrorists that the commando forces (whom we
generally see at work in a war) rush to the station and
shoot our friends at sight

1. Rural India relies on it overwhelmingly for information
2. Most inexpensive and portable medium.
3. Radio set is cheaper than a mobile phone or television
4. Surmount barriers linked to literacy- allowing even illiterate to comprehend and absorb news and
information
5. Cheaper broadcasting in a bewildering variety of languages.
6. Listening to the morning news on radio remains one of the most widely reported habits across the
globe.
7. During situations like the 2004 tsunami, and the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, radio played a stellar ro
le in conveying information on relief work, aid and recovery efforts when other mediums became i
naccessible.
