9. Act on pirates (Performance)
Narrator: Gunshots are heard near the water at Pier 27,
police cops opened fire against Joseph “Socko the Bracer”
Gayle and his man. During the shootout, Gayle was killed.
The pirates saw the shots and ran to John Allen’s Dance Hall
which had a back entrance to the hotel where they and all the
pirates would be spending the night, Tommy Hadden’s
Shanghai Hotel.
Pirate #1: (breathing heavily)
Hey, we have to talk to John Allen and Kit about what
happened.
Pirate #2: (talking fast, you can hear anxiousness on his
voice)
I don’t know, we should go straight to Haden. You know
Tommy is the craziest guy in Water Street, he runs all this
shit.
Pirate #1: Ok, we will talk to Haden, tell him what happened
give him his ID’s and get out of here.
Pirate #2: (looking left and right and grabbing his head)
Perfect, let's do that
Narrator: 1872, Seaport District Manhattan. Two pirates have sailed to
New York. They are sitting in a corner at Hall-In-a-Wall Saloon drinking
bourbon. The bar was full of East River Pirates and, as New York’s most
famous gang busting attorney, Frank Moss would say, full of Water Street
Hags too.
Pirate #1: Hey, its been a long day, you feel like drinking our night away
and taking one of these girls back to Hadden’s?
Pirate #2: I feel like doing something more exciting. I know stakes are
gonna be high if we go down to the pit. Kit is going crazy tonight since
elections are coming up.
Pirate #1: Oh man, Kit Burn’s Rat Pit then? Well, it is always a good time
seeing his crazy black bear fight and kill some rats.
Pirate #2: I think it will be a special night, I mean, again, elections are
coming up.
Narrator: Kit Burn’s Rat Pit is the pirates’ favorite spot to hang around, bets
are always high. New York’s mayor’s elections are coming up tomorrow. If
votes go the wrong way, it could be extremely bad for pirates and all the
illegal businesses in the Seaport District. As it has happened before, Water
Street will try to control the elections.
Pirate #2: Hey, how long do you think the bear will take to kill the 100 rats
tonight?
Pirate #1: I don't know, I think his crazy ass will snatch the 100 probably in
8-9 minutes? (voice pitch elevates)
Pirate #2: I think he will do it in less, to be honest
Pirate #1: No way…..
Pirate #2: Bet
Pirate #1: Bet
• Both pirates shake hands -
Narrator: Not only tonight is elections night, but it is also the night where
500 people were able to sit at Kit Burn’s Rat Pit and watch the Black Bear
break a record in the 8-by-8 inch octagon break a record and kill 100 rats in
5 minutes and 40 seconds.
Both of the pirates walked outside the Rat Pit and walked through Water
Street looking at the bodies of all the sailors they had killed that night. It
was time to take their identifications to use during elections and make sure
elections would go their way one more time.
Pirate #1: Well I am out of money now because of you, but you know what
I am winning for sure?...
Pirate #1&2: (both pirates at the same time)
This election hahahahahaha
Pirate #2: Hey man Socko told us to do things quickly with the IDs while he
goes with Woods and Manning to get some stuff from these people’s
boats.
Pirate #1: These sailors definitely have a lot of goods in that boat The
Bracer is a crazy man.
Narrator: Gunshots are heard near the water at Pier 27, police cops

Pirate #2: (looking left and right and grabbing his head)
Perfect, let's do that
Pirate #1: We need to get those votes in, make sure the election is won
and never come back to New York. This city is for crazy people. I do not
care if we are pirates but if you decide to live in New York City you have to
completely out of your mind, like an artist or something like that.
12. Imagine a world of pirates.
In this phase we captured the essence of pirate
stories with combination of our imagination
to build this fantasy world of pirates.
It is complained as an interaction application.

I share only what I want to share.
My life is private.
Since the 1950’s people have been watching us.
Since the 2000s people have been tracking us.
Security cameras and the internet have given
people the authority to watch over our lives. Our
authorization is technically implied by simply living
in a place. I sit and look out the window, New York
is more crowded than ever, my kids are getting
ready for school and in my mind I can not keep
thinking of how anyone in the city can trace every
single step my kids take, even watching them in
the classroom. My wife, the government probably
knew she was pregnant before we knew
ourselves. The heat-maps around the city to track
sick people can notice the change inside a
human. How is it possible that the city knows our
future before us. It needs to stop, we need to
decide who we share our lives with.

People feel safe thanks to surveillance.
I am writing with my deepest concern. The people are starting a
movement asking for the government and the private establishments to
stop using security cameras or security systems that track people. The
world is going crazy. People are asking the government to not take
care of the people themselves and for companies to not protect
themselves. We live in a world where people forgets quickly. We live in
a world where people only want what they hear and they follow the
masses, without even thinking of the consequences or what they really
want. If we look back into our history, 9/11 was one of the most tragic
events. Thanks to our security we were able to trace the responsible
terrorist and we were able to stop another airplane before creating
more casualties, more deaths. Because of security cameras we have
been able to capture thousands of thief's, killers, child abusers and
many more criminals. Technology does not advance just to advance,
especially when it comes to surveillance. Technology advances to
cover the needs of society. The reason people feel so safe, and think
they should not be under surveillance is because the surveillance is so
good they do not feel fear anymore. This should not even be a
discussion and the government should never listen to any protest or
opposing parties.
