2. Traditional game: Boat Race
Activity Aims:
• Play a grandparents’ game that
can be played during the spring-
summer season
• Use simple materials
• Develop pupil’s creativity
• Think positive
• Take care of the environment

3. • Boat race participants:
25 pupils of 5C
• Time – last school day
before the Easter leave
• Duration – 2 hours
• Place – Billom,
Medieval part of town
on the river Angaud

4. Preparatory stage: making a boat
• Make a paper boat using an A4 sheet of paper, pencils and
felt pens
• Make a wish for you or family member, a dear person
• Write down your wish on a small scrap of paper
• Fold it and put it in your boat

5. Boat race:
• launch your boat in the river
• be the first to cross the finish line
• think positive – even if you don’t
win, your wish has got every
chance to be fulfilled
• Pick out all paper boats out of
the river at the end of the race
