• Solid works and Pro-Engineer 3D CAD tools which aid the creation of reliable and accurate bearing designs.
• Cosmos Works is a finite element analysis (FEA) software for calculation of structural deformation and material stress
• ARMD Design software allows OEL to create reports regarding bearing performance based upon customer specified
duties.

10. FEA Software
 CosmosWorks is a component & assembly level finite element analysis, (FEA),
software solution that stands alongside Solid Works. ProMechanica is a
component level FEA software solution that is integrated within ProEngineer
 Both used for calculation of structural deformation and Material stress.
 Provides accurate design analysis at an early stage in the design process.
 Enables rapid, less costly, and more optimized product development.

11. Prediction Software
 Osborne’s bearing performance prediction
software comes from Rotor Bearing Technology and
Software Inc, (RBTS).
 This company has specialised in the analysis of
rotary machinery dynamics, bearings and seals for
over 40 years.
 This proven software, which is also used by other
bearing OEM manufacturers, allows Osborne’s
Design Engineers to model and evaluate bearing
performance based upon customer specified duties
and bearing geometry.
 The outputs from this software include minimum
oil film thicknesses, oil temperatures, power losses,
required oil flows and stiffness and dampening
characteristics to allow further rotor dynamic studies
to be carried out.
