11. PRODUCT LAYOUT
• This kind of layout is designed according the operations
required in manufacturing the product . the machines are
arranged sequentially according to the processes to be carried
out on raw materials. this product layout is used when the large
amount of same product is to be manufactured.
12. PROCESS LAYOUT
• This kind of layout is the machine are located together i.e. similar
types of machine are arranged in one area of the plant . So, the
similar processes are carried out the same place. This layout is also
termed as job layout having low volume of production.
13. COMBINED LAYOUT
• It is rare to find out pure product or process plant layout. The
combined layout is mostly used in the in the industrial in order to
get the advantages of both types of plant layouts. In such case
machinery is arranged in a process layout but process grouping is
then arranged in a sequence to manufacturing various types and
size of group.
14. FIXED POSITION LAYOUT
• In this type of plan layout, the product is kept at a fixed position
and all other material , components , tool, machines, equipment ;
workers are brought in periphery of it . this generally happens
when the work piece is huge in size and it cannot be loaded on to

wind blades, aircraft structuring and other projects involve this
