2. Problem
• Bacteria can make people
get sick or die from water
from other countries.
• Microorganisms can do the
same.
• Dirty water causes viruses
and some of the water
causes infections.
3. Research
Water is placed in a closed tank in order for disinfection to take place. The water then flows through pipes
to homes and business. The U.S. environmental protection reports that 90 percent of the world water is
contaminated. The steps for cleaning are coagulation means removes dirt and other particles suspended
in water. Sedimentation means sediments settles in the clean water. filtration means remove even smaller
particles.Disinfection means a small amount of chlorine is added or some other disinfection Method is
used to kill any bacteria. Storage means water is placed in a closed tank for disinfection to take place.
4. Experiment
• You can drink water safer
by boiling it.Drink it
because boiling makes it
clean because it kills the
bacteria.
• Distilled water always boils
at a hundred degrees
Celsius. Because it has no
minerals.
• You can tell that it is boiling
when there is bubbles in the
water.
5. • We would boil the water with a lid because it
traps the heat inside so it kills the bacteria
inside
• We would boil tap water because it boils
faster and it has the lowest time.

8. Conclusion
Our conclusion is tap water and salt water does not boil at a
hundred degrees Celsius. We learned that it does not boil at
this temperature because it has minerals, but distilled water
does boil at one hundred degrees Celsius because it does not
have any minerals.
