Quality Assurance
 Verifying and approving of contractors qualified QC inspectors for painting/coating
inspection.
 Conducting necessary pre-qualification tests for paints, paint systems, blasters, and
painters and arranging for the availability of necessary qualification certificates.
 Periodically checking the contractors painting storage and paint application facilities to
conform the proper storage, mixing, thinning, application methods and techniques to
conform project painting/coating specification/manufacturers recommendations and
international standards are met.
 Coordinating with:
 External quality auditors to conduct the quality audits within the company & at
contractor site and taking necessary action to close the NCR’s if any.

 Contractor for making sufficient numbers of Paint Test Panels for each paint system &
qualifying through necessary non destructive & destructive tests like DFT checks, cross
cut, pull of adhesion test as per ISO & ASTM standards.
Quality Control
 Checking that QC instruments/equipment is calibrated as per projects QA procedures
and ensuring the availability of all the calibration certificates at site office.
 Making arrangements for necessary material verification & traceability of painting/coating
materials and coordinating for the availability of Batch and Test Certificates.
 Updating inspection reports documentations, filing paint data sheets & MSDS and
arranging Paint Batch Certificates, Equipment Calibration Certificates & Indexes.
 Conducting audits in contractor’s paint/thinner/abrasives stores, stores offices to
verifying methods paint/thinner, abrasives receiving, clearing, storing, and record
keeping.
 Making necessary follow ups with contractors and subcontractors to take action against
and quality NCR’s.
 Controlling site painting/coating inspectors for effective completion and clearance of job
inspection activities.
 Ensuring that daily painting/coating inspection reports prepared by contractors and
subcontractors site painting inspectors and documented.
 Finalizing quality punch lists made by contractor, following up for closing quality punch
list points and reviewing the final test pack made by contractor.
 Inspection carried out based on RFI (Request for Inspection) from sub-contractor as per
the applicable Inspection Test Plan & Project Specification.
 Ensure fulfillment of all stages of Application as per as per the Project specification.
 Witness field tests (viz. WFT, DFT, Pin Hole/Holiday Detection, etc.).
 Ensure that weather conditions (viz. Relative Humidity and Dew Point) are suitable for
surface preparation and paint application.
 Ensure that the surface Cleanliness and surface profile of blast-cleaned surfaces are in
accordance with the specification requirements.
