To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is serving as a reference for Mr. Greg Kay who I am proud to have worked with during my
12 years in the Edinboro University Dining Services and ID Office, the liaison office to the food service
contractor. Greg’s role was Operations Manager at Van Houten Dining Hall, Edinboro University’s largest
dining facility. Our mission was to work together to ensure the best experiences for all the students, staff,
faculty and guests and to engage them into a wonderful experience in both the dining and building usage.
Greg showed to be very successful and balanced the line between responsibility to his former
company and the University, representing both. His professionalism and positive attitude will certainly be
missed. We worked together on many occasions. During the summer months we worked closely to organize
the diverse camp and conference schedule at the University, feeding upwards of 1800 patrons in a week,
with as many as up to 35 different camps and all with various meals start and ending dates and times. A
huge coordination project. This showed his ability to manage and synchronization skills was exceptional.
I have never known Greg to miss work. He was always at work, on location and could be seen
wearing “many hats”. I could see he was always doing whatever task needed to be done, filling in spots
when people were out or helping in overload situations. He did all this without ever leaving his work
responsibilities behind. He always stayed on top of everything that went on in this building from catered
events, room rentals, to promotions, in the dining venues.
Being a University setting, we work with a diverse population in ethnic, international, social and age
backgrounds. Also interactions with students, staff, parents and general public, Greg dealt equally in respect
and gratitude; also in an energetic, upbeat and friendly manner.
I am proud to recommend Mr. Greg Kay to any role that he undertakes. He has good, clear direction
and morals to understand what is important in life. I am confident that his attitude, job aptitude and good
character will always have positive outcomes.
Sincerely,
Robin Schaef
