neverlose ourjobs.People are nevergonnastopproducinggarbage!!”Notsucha greatthingto be able
to say,is it?
So,I decidedtodo somethingaboutit.Ourchildrenwill be the onestoinheritthisplanet,sotheyneed
to learnhowto lookafterit WAY betterthanwe are. Afterbeingthe Educator for Waste Servicesin
Local Government fora while,itbecame cleartome that manyPre SchoolsandEarlyLearningCentres
were strugglingwiththe taskof teachingsustainability,waste reduction,recycling- all the
environmental life skillssoimportantfortoday’schildren. Lessonsandactivitieswereoftentokenisticin
nature and missingkeylearningoutcomesvitalincementingskillsforlife.
That’s wheniSEEProgramswas born.
IntegratedSustainabilityandEnvironmental EducationProgramsAKA iSEEPrograms,isasuite of
programsand tools to help Pre SchoolsandEarly LearningCentresteach sustainabilitylife skillsto
childrenintheircare,while ensuringtheyaddressandevenexceedcrucial QualityStandardsduring
Accreditationassessments.Activitiesare engaging,inclusive andcoverarange of topicsfrom food
gardeningandnature playto recycledart andjunkyardband!
Early ChildhoodEducatorsare time poor.Theysimplydon’thave the time toresearch,planandquantify
everylesson,inadditiontospendingtime onthe floorwithourchildren.I’ve takenthe researching,
planningandquantifyingoutof itfor them, soall theyneedto focuson,is providingqualitycare toour
newestgeneration –the generationwho will be livinginanenvironmentvastly more damagedthanthe
one we grewup in.
We owe itto our kidsto educate themearlyandeducate themwell.WithiSEEPrograms,thateducation
will be deliveredsoearly,childrenwillgrow upknowingno different–sustainabilitywillbe inherentto
them;and theywill be educatedsowell,sustainabilitywon’tbe achore – itwill be a joy theywill share
withtheirownchildrenone day.Theywill learntochange the world.
