I believe that I have the relevant current experience, skills and qualifications to be successful in the
role of Lead Behavioural Manager. I completely understand that the well-being of a child is
fundamental in encouraging them to attain academically and socially. I have studied and dealt with a
variety of barriers to learning, and always offer support to pupil, parents and staff to ensure we work
collaboratively as a team.
I currently work with the year 7 cohort and have previously worked with key stage 3 and 4 pupils,
many who have displayed a range of challenging behaviours including ADHD, BESD, ODD and
Aspergers. I am fully aware and realise the need for a personalised approach according to the
individual. I have worked closely with SENCO’s, Senior Leadership and external agencies in
developing strategies that benefit young people in schools for the past eleven years, and strongly
believe that this positive working practice has given me the relevant experience and professional
development needed to be successful. I have been the first point of contact for parents in my last
two roles, and realise the importance of maintaining strong communication links with them. I am
aware of the need for confidentiality and safe guarding procedures according to policies.
In 2009 I successfully achieved my BA with honours in Educational Studies at Greenwich University.
The range of study I undertook, securely underpinned my knowledge and understanding of
pedagogy and pastoral care. This allowed me to transfer many of those learned skills into different
situations including; small group work, one to one meetings and parental support.
I would welcome the opportunity to work in a new and successful environment where I can enjoy
and offer a positive impact on young people.
