How to use portrait and landscape slides in the same presentation
1. How to use portrait and landscape slides in the same presentation
In this PowerPoint course you will learn how to combine portatrait and landscape slides within one
presentation. In default settings PowerPoint displays slides in landscape orientation. It can be
switched to portrait orientation but both settings cannot be used in the same presentation.
If you want to create a slideshow with slides with both, the landscape and portrait orientation, you
have to actualy create two presentations, where one includes slides in landscape orientation and the
other presentation includes portrait slides.
Place both presentations in one folder together with all files you will need in the slide show,
including all sound files and pictures that you use in the presentation.
How to create the final slide show
With a landscape slide showing, you now need to show a portrait slide next in your final slide show.
Select either a piece of text or a photo (or other graphic object) on the slide and follow the steps
below. The end result will be that when this text or object is clicked during the slide show, the
portrait slide will open.
1. Click on the Insert tab of the ribbon.
2. Click the Action button in the Links section of the ribbon.
3. Click either the Mouse Click or Mouse Over tab.
2. 4. Click the radio button beside Hyperlink to: and from the drop down list choose Other
PowerPoint Presentation...
5. Select the appropriate slide in the list of slides in presentation with portrait slides.
6. Click OK twice to close the dialog boxes. The slide in the landscape presentation is now linked
to the portrait slide, which is the next slide in your final presentation.
