October 2013 – August 2014 Process Engineer at CelesticaTM
Aerospace and Defence Centre of Excellence – EMS (Electronic
Manufacturing Services) (Valencia, Spain)
Tasks:
 Engineering support to the assembly line production.
 Optimization of work instructions and layout.
 Development of Lean Projects, including reduction of waste and
therefore costs that don’t add value.
 Improvement in the efficiency and quality of the soldering wave
process.
 Create a fixed staff to process all printed circuit boards through the
wave soldier, achieving the specialization of the team.
 Time analysis and development of a new scheduling application, to
optimize the planning of the cell.
 Change the lay-out of the Manual Insertion zone from seven to two
workers, needed to balance properly the times of insertion and
inspection, in order to meet Cycle-Times with Takt-Times
requirements.
 Apply SMED method for reduction in changing times.
 Introduction of computer screens for the work instruction, instead of
using paper that causes high rate of scrap.
 Introduction of control tables at the wave line, in order to keep track
of changes.
