A storyboard is a series of frames that illustrate the sequence of events in a media production through drawings of shots, camera angles, movements, lengths and timings. Storyboarding is an important pre-production step that allows filmmakers to pre-visualize their production and discover potential problems before filming begins. The storyboard will include illustrations of the proposed camera shots and transitions within the music video from shot numbers one through thirty.
2. What is the purpose of a storyboard?
A storyboard is a graphical organizer of illustrations, which are displayed in a sequential format, to suit
the purpose of pre-visualizing a media sequence. Such as animations, motion pictures and motion
graphics. Simply, storyboards are series of frames which include illustrations of the sequence of events
within a media text. In context to my production, I will illustrate the proposed sequences within the
music video. Via relating to the camera shots, camera angles, camera movements, shot lengths and
timings and the transitions between the shots; within the music video.
Storyboarding is a significant stage of the pre-production processes. In relation to my production as a
music video(film), it was essential that I had storyboarded my production before the production
processes; to visualize the scenes and discover potential problems. Whereby, problems can be
overcome before footage collection initiates.
